"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin;
"And when politicians find that honor and character matter less than buying votes and a constituency, that too will herald the end of the Constitution. When that happens we must work tirelessly to change their minds, or their occupation!" - Hoping The Blind Will See

To Whom Or What Do We Owe Our Allegiance?

That may seem like a simple question, but is it? Some will answer that we owe our allegiance to our family. Some will extend that to friends and family. Some might say they owe allegiance to their employer, after all their employer makes it possible for them to maintain their lifestyle. Some will say their partner - personal or business. Some will say shareholders. Others, with a more patriotic vent may widen their scope to include their country, and still others may extend it ever further to include the suffering everywhere.

But I submit to you that there is truly only one place in which we should consign our allegiance, and that is with God. For in the end, which is the second common denominator we all share, it will not be how much money we could pass on to our loved ones, or how much we were able to accumulate or accomplish in our lifetimes, or even how compassionate and benevolent we may have been that will be judged. It will be our fidelity to God.

So, today, in these challenging times, reaffirm your allegiance to God. Trust in Him. Live your life, from today forward, as if He were walking right there beside you - He is, after all.

As Outraged As You May Be, As Afraid For Your Country And Your Comfortable Way Of Life As You May Be, Take Heart In, And Make Room For, God! And Let All Esle Take A Back Seat...
