"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin;
"And when politicians find that honor and character matter less than buying votes and a constituency, that too will herald the end of the Constitution. When that happens we must work tirelessly to change their minds, or their occupation!" - Hoping The Blind Will See

Disillusioned, Disgusted, and Demoralized

It is Saturday, 11/21/2009,  @ 6:45pm. The Senate will vote in one hour on whether or not debate should be held on the Health Care Reform Bill. The final three Democrat holdouts have strongly declared that they will not vote for a bill that contains a public option, but they will vote for the debate to be held. It's all smoke and mirrors, my friends. You see, the vote to hold debate is the one that counts. Because without that vote, their could be no vote on the bill itself. And the sad truth is this. Once the debate "door" is opened, at some point Harry Greid will play the reconciliation card, and he will need only 51 votes to pass health care. So to all you people who "think" your Democratic Senator is "standing firm on the issue", stop deluding yourself. It's all an act on his or her part to disguise what they really want - a new health care reform bill, and at the same time the abiltity to say "I didn't vote for that, so don't blame me, and don't vote me out." They believe they have you fooled. I'm not so sure they don't. But remember this, 61% of Americans do NOT want this legislation, and yet the government won't listen to us. What happened to a Government of the People,  FOR the people, By the People? Why doesn't it bother you that our government callously and blatantly dismisses us all? That alone should be enough to make you realize something is wrong. And yet, too many people continue to play the game of "ostrich", hiding their heads because the truth is too "overwhelming" to contemplate. When did we become such a society of wimps? Pathetic!

So for all of you who thought it took too much time to call your senators demanding that they vote against opening the debate; for all of you who thought it was too inconvenient to take time off from work to visit the office of your representative or to join the march on Washington last September to demand your Senator or representative vote against the health care bills in both Houses; for all of you who have taken your liberty in America for granted and who refused to care enough to educate yourselves on the issues - and the history of the issues, I say with deep, deep conviction... Shame on you!

You are not worthy to be called American. And though you may believe yourself to be one, in my view, you have not earned that right. To fail your country in it's time of need is unacceptable to those of us who love her and what she stood for.

You may be short-sighted enough to look back a year from now, and seeing little difference, say "see, it wasn't as bad as you thought, was it?" What you may not realize is that we will see NO change for 4-5 years, because the bill doesn't take effect until 2013-2014, though you'll surely be paying taxes to pay for it for the next 5 years and beyond. Like that change?

And when your granchild asks you what you did to help stem the tide of bigger government that led to socialistic society, I want to be there to see if you look that child in the eye and tell him or her "because I didn't care enough about you to get involved." And then I want to watch as you slink off somewhere shame facedly, and pitifully cry for what you have lost and what you have brought on all of us and the generations yet to come.

As for those of you who believe as I do, that this was the greatest country throughout history, what will you commit to now? How far are you willing to go to ensure that our country, with all our rights from God, that our forefathers gave us, will not slide off into mediocrity? For surely if we do nothing, that will happen, just as it has happened to societies throughout history. This is without a doubt the most destructive administration in our history. There have been other administrations that have tried to destroy America, but until now, none have been successful. That's because Americans haven't allowed it!

For Those Of You Who Still Believe, I Only Ask Why?

Let's see...

First we were told a stimulus package had to be passed immediately to prevent a full blown depression and to ensure that the unemployment rate would not rise above 8%. We are currently at 10.2% and climbing, using the current skewed formula. The real rate is closer to 18% and that number does NOT include retired persons. In reality, about one in four Americans of working age are not employed. Happy with that change?

Then we were told that we needed Cap & Trade legislation (that's energy legislation which the House has already passed) and of which Obama said "energy rates would necessarily skyrockety under my plan". Happy with that change?

Then we were told "the American people say they want health care reform". I know I wasn't questioned, were you? Between the march on Wsashington on September 12th, the thousands of tea party events across the country, and the town halls held in August, millions of Americans have voiced their opinion against the healthcare reform legislation currently being bandied about on Capitol Hill. And yet, the House passed a health care reform bill, and the Senate is about to do the same  - maybe completing that process in the next 4-5 weeks. I assume you are informed enough to undersatnd that all of us working people will be footing that bill. Happy with that change?

So I ask you, why do you believe that this administration, or ANY administration in our government at any time in the future, could properly run and control the Health Care system which is 1/6th of our economy? Why would we want a government that controls nearly 50% of our economy overall? Why do you want government controlling that much of your life? Do you really lack that much confidence and self-esteem in you ability to run your own life? If so, that's a pity! I need to understand your perspective, so I beg you to leave a comment to let me know...

Men Of Principle Don't Apologize, But They Do Seem To Be All Too Few And Far Between

The following is a statement released by Retired Lt. Col. Allen West:
Allen West

This past Thursday 13 American Soldiers were killed and another 30 wounded at a horrific mass shooting at US Army installation, Ft Hood Texas. As I watched in horror and then anger I recalled my two years of final service in the Army as a Battalion Commander at Ft Hood, 2002-2004. My wife and two daughters were stunned at the incident having lived on the post in family housing. A military installation, whether it is Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, or Coast Guard, is supposed to be a safe sanctuary for our Warriors and their families. It is intended to provide a home whereby our “Band of Brothers and Sisters” can find solace and bond beyond just the foxhole but as family units. A military installation is supposed to be a place where our Warriors train for war, to serve and protect our Nation.

On Thursday, 5 November 2009 Ft Hood became a part of the battlefield in the war against Islamic totalitarianism and state sponsored terrorism.

There may be those who feel threatened by my words and would even recommend they not be uttered. To those individuals I say step aside because now is not the time for cowardice. Our Country has become so paralyzed by political correctness that we have allowed a vile and determined enemy to breach what should be the safest place in America, an Army post.

We have become so politically correct that our media is more concerned about the stress of the shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan. The misplaced benevolence intending to portray him as a victim is despicable. The fact that there are some who have now created an entire new classification called; “pre-virtual vicarious Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)” is unconscionable.

This is not a “man caused disaster”. It is what it is, an Islamic jihadist attack.
We have seen this before in 2003 when a SGT Hasan of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) threw hand grenades and opened fire into his Commanding Officer’s tent in Kuwait. We have seen the foiled attempt of Albanian Muslims who sought to attack Ft Dix, NJ. Recently we saw a young convert to Islam named Carlos Bledsoe travel to Yemen, receive terrorist training, and return to gun down two US Soldiers at a Little Rock, Arkansas Army recruiting station. We thwarted another Islamic terrorist plot in North Carolina which had US Marine Corps Base, Quantico as a target.
What have we done with all these prevalent trends? Nothing.

What we see are recalcitrant leaders who are refusing to confront the issue, Islamic terrorist infiltration into America, and possibly further into our Armed Services. Instead we have a multiculturalism and diversity syndrome on steroids.

Major Hasan should have never been transferred to Ft Hood, matter of fact he should have been Chaptered from the Army. His previous statements, poor evaluation reports, and the fact that the FBI had him under investigation for jihadist website posting should have been proof positive.

However, what we have is a typical liberal approach to find a victim, not the 13 and 30 Soldiers and Civilian, but rather the poor shooter. A shooter who we are told was a great American, who loved the Army and serving his Nation and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) stating that his actions had nothing to do with religious belief. We know that Major Hasan deliberately planned this episode; he did give away his possessions. He stood atop a table in the confined space of the Soldier Readiness Center shouting “Allahu Akhbar”, same chant as the 9-11 terrorists and those we fight against overseas in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters of operation.

No one in leadership seems willing to sound the alarm for the American people; they are therefore complicit in any future attacks. Our Congress should suspend the insidious action to vote on a preposterous and unconstitutional healthcare bill and resolve the issue of “protecting the American people”. The recent incidents in Dearborn Michigan, Boston Massachusetts, Dallas Texas, and Chicago Illinois should bear witness to the fact that we have an Islamic terrorism issue in America. And don’t have CAIR call me and try to issue a vanilla press statement; they are an illegitimate terrorist associated organization which should be disbanded.

We have Saudi Arabia funding close to 80% of the mosques in the United States, one right here in South Florida, Pompano Beach. Are we building churches and synagogues in Saudi Arabia? Are “Kaffirs” and “Infidels” allowed travel to Mecca? So much for peaceful coexistence. Saudi Arabia is sponsoring radical Imams who enter into our prisons and convert young men into a virulent Wahabbist ideology….one resulting in four individuals wanting to destroy synagogues in New York with plastic explosives. Thank God the explosives were dummy. They are sponsoring textbooks which present Islamic centric revisionist history in our schools.

We must recognize that there is an urgent need to separate the theo-political radical Islamic ideology out of our American society. We must begin to demand surveillance of suspected Imams and mosques that are spreading hate and preaching the overthrow of our Constitutional Republic……that speech is not protected under First Amendment, it is sedition and if done by an American treason.
There should not be some 30 Islamic terrorist training camps in America that has nothing to do with First Amendment, Freedom of Religion. The Saudis are not our friends and any American political figure who believes such is delusional.

When tolerance becomes a one way street it certainly leads to cultural suicide. We are on that street. Liberals cannot be trusted to defend our Republic, because their sympathies obviously lie with their perceived victim, Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

I make no apologies for these words, and anyone angered by them, please, go to Ft Hood and look into the eyes of the real victims. The tragedy at Ft Hood Texas did not have to happen. Consider now the feelings of those there and on every military installation in the world. Consider the feelings of the Warriors deployed into combat zones who now are concerned that their loved ones at home are in a combat zone. Ft Hood suffered an Islamic jihadist attack, stop the denial, and realize a simple point.
The reality of your enemy must become your own.

Steadfast and Loyal,
Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (US Army, Ret)

Allen West is running for Congress in Florida's 22nd District. I wish I lived there, I'd be working for him if he's anything like the views he expressed in this article. Check him out, folks!

Is It The Start Of An Epidemic?

We have witnessed President Obama make speech after speech after speech where he has apologized for some actual or perceived event that occurred in our past. The latest apology came when he addressed American Indians recently. Over the weekend, the British government  caught the disease. They apologized for sending children to Australia centuries ago. It's kind of embarrassing, because no one knows exactly who the British were apologizing to. I just want to know if this is the beginning of the Apology Epidemic, or even an Apology Pandemic so that if I find someone apologizing to me for something, I'll know whether it's sincere or just some symptom of his/her malady.

I'd also like to know when all the countries we've sent aid to over the past 100 years plan to apologize for accepting it. I'd like to know when France will apologize for accepting our military's help during WWII. I'd like to know when Japan will apologize for attacking Pearl Harbor, and then having the gall to accept our money and expertise to rebuild their country. Same with Germany! I want to know when all the countries that formerly made up the Soviet Union will apologize for allowing the US to fight the USSR during the "cold war" without help from hardly anyone. I'd like to know when Gorbachev will apologize for accepting President Reagan's demand to "tear down this wall"!  I'd like to know when South Korea and South Vietnam will apologize for accepting our help to keep them free from communist rule. I'd like to know when Kuwait will apologize for allowing us to into their country to free them from  Saddam Hussein's invasion? Should we apologize to the Iraqi people for freeing them from a dictatorial regime?

Come on! Let's get this pandemic cooking! All in favor of more apologies, raise your hands! Hmmm, come on folks. Hmmm, no hands? Well, maybe it's not an epidemic after all, maybe it;s just a moronidemic!

Wake Up America, Obama is not looking out for America, or for our future!

President Obowa At It Again!

Once again, President Obama has bowed to a foreign head of state. This time he bowed to Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on Saturday. You may recall that back in April he bowed to the Saudi king. In the 230 year history of this country, NO president has ever bowed to a member of the royalty. And yet this Moron-in-Chief has taken it upon himself to do just that, and has possibly set a humiliating precedent in the process. Every decision this guy makes, regardless of how small, is wrong. He has embarassed the office of the president, humiliated this country, and caused once loyal allies to rethink their relationships with us. How much more damage are we going to allow this idiot to wreak before we demand that our congressmen site him for treason! He is single-handedly minimizing our stature and our influence in the world.  Obama is not just a moron, he's an F'in moron!

Do you believe the US Dollar will crumble?

In this recent poll 14% said it could never happen, 42% said within a year and another 42% said within 3 years. No one who voted, and thought it would happen, thought it would occur later than 3 years from now...

Wake Up America!

What Should Conservatives Settle For?

Recent Gallup polls show that 40% of Americans are conservative, while only about 20% are liberal. That leaves 40% that both major Parties "court" for their vote. I consistently hear people say that "third party" candidates can't win, that they just take votes away from  the Republican candidate. I've heard people say we must vote for the the most conservative candidate "who can win". And I've read articles that present the argument that coalitions must be built if the Republicans are going to take back seats in Congress.

But my philosophy is a bit different. Historically, coalitions built have just water down the Republican Party and pulled it further and further to the left. For 40 years the Republicans have been telling us they need to be more inclusive. And because of that we've been voting against a particular candidate, or voting for the candidate who will "hurt" us the least, instead of voting for a candidate who represents our values! All except 1980 and 1984 when President Reagan (a Conservative) ran and won landslide victories (that should tell you something). Reagan didn't build coalitions, he didn't pander to one political special interest over another. He said what he meant, and meant what he said.  And his message resonated with the people - conservatives and moderates alike - because they liked that message. That should tell politicians something - find and use that same message! Reagan's values, principles, patriotism and integrity were prominently displayed during every speech he ever gave.

So I say forget about the "labels" - Democrat/Republican/Independent mean nothing! What counts is the way a candidate (regardless of his/her party affiliation) votes - period. It's that cut and dried. Past voting records are a matter of public record, so check the voting records of your Senators and Representative. If their record is too liberal/progressive vote them out of offcie at the very first opportunity. If they are a new, inexperienced candidate, ask him/her what their positions are relative to the values and principles you hold dear. You may not know much about the person you vote in, but I expect your political vigilance from today forward will most likely mean you'll scrutinize their voting record once they take office - and vote them out if they aren't what you want.

Do not let someone talk you into voting for someone you are not comfortable with just because they're the candidate "who can win". Don't settle for that! It's that kind of thinking that has driven us to the fragmented, politically correct world we live in, And it's been driving us there for the past 40+ years. Don't settle for more of the same! Don't settle for someone who does not share your values! Do not settle for someone because he/she is the "least" progressive. Find the people who share your values. Encourage them to run for office. Then support them every way you can. And then, when it's time, vote them into office!

It's a long road back, America! Take time to think about, and visualize what you want America to be. Then go out and mold her into that vision!

Wake Up America!
