"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin;
"And when politicians find that honor and character matter less than buying votes and a constituency, that too will herald the end of the Constitution. When that happens we must work tirelessly to change their minds, or their occupation!" - Hoping The Blind Will See

How Many On The Left Have We Heard From On This?

A million dollar contract on Joe Arpaio...

And here's a comment from an Arizonian whose blog I frequent...

Soloman said...

This is not the only threat made against an Arizona Sheriff. I don't know if any of you have heard, but it's been big news here in AZ - the cartels have threatened the lives of every officer in Pima County, the county that Paul Babeu protects.

This is becoming more and more serious every day. Thankfully for everyday citizens like me the streets are still safe in most of metro Phoenix, but I avoid certain parts of town where I used to enjoy shopping or going out on weekend nights.

And for law enforcement, it's becoming more and more dangerous. We just had an officer killed and two injured in a shootout over drug-related issues. Not sure if it's Mexican gangs or not.. but sadly that's now the first assumption everyone comes to.

And of course, Obama wants amnesty and McCain is playing politics, and right now McCain's winning the Senate race. Kyl's standing with McCain, which really pisses me off - it's an 'old boys club' kind of behavior that's disgraceful, because generally I really respect Kyl.

We just gotta keep on keepin' on here in the eye of the storm...

Outraged Yet?

So It Is...

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.

He asked, 'What are all those clocks?' St. Peter answered, 'Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.'

'Oh,' said the man, 'whose clock is that?'

'That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.'

'Incredible,' said the man. 'And whose clock is that one?'

St. Peter responded, 'That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life.'

'Where's President Obama's clock?' asked the man.

Obama's clock is in Jesus' office.

He's using it as a ceiling fan.

And So It Will Be...

Do You Still Remember Him? Don't Let Your Support Wane

This from safeguardourconstitution.com/. It concerns Lt. Col Terry Lakin who refused orders to deploy to Afghanistan citing the fact that he is still unsure as to the legitimacy of the order from obama. Since obama has still refused to provide concrete evidence that he was born a US Citizen, Lt.Col Lakin does not acknowledge him as the Commander-In-Chief. Rather than simply produce an official birth certificate and be done with the controversy, obama has spent millions of dollars to keep his record of birth secret. Look Here. Does that make any sense at all?

Press Release: July 28 2010

Lakin Makes Formal Request of Hawaii Deposition

Decorated Army Doctor LTC Terry Lakin Makes Formal Request To Commanding General For Deposition Of Hawaii State Dept Of Health
Testimony Sought of “Custodian of Records” AND Production of all records relating to President.

LTC Lakin faces lengthy prison term for refusing to deploy to Afghanistan
Obama Administration unleashes Army lawyers instead of releasing birth certificate

A vigorous defense of this case presents the ONLY present hope that Americans will finally learn whether their president lawfully holds office. If you want the proof, you can only hope to get it by supporting LTC Lakin NOW. MAKE A TAX DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION NOW TO TERRY'S DEFENSE FUND.

Terry Lakin has now been officially charged in writing with two crimes. The first is "Missing Movement" a serious crime in the nature of a felony for failing to deploy to Afghanistan. The second is disobeying a direct order, and there are four specifications (separate instances) of this charge. Any soldier convicted on all charges and specifications would expect to be sentenced to years at "hard labor" in the penitentiary. In facing court-martial, LTC Lakin is just the latest victim of the determined effort of the President not to provide simple proof of his eligibility under the constitution to hold office.

American Patriot Foundation's Legal Defense Fund will pay for all of LTC Lakin's attorneys fees and costs, and so we urgently need your tax deductible contribution. A noted civilian California trial lawyer has now been hired to be LTC Lakin's lead counsel. It is expected these fees and costs will exceed $500,000 and therefore it is essential that LTC Lakin's supporters come to his aid NOW.

We ask ourselves how we can make a difference. Well, here is one way. Support a decorated patriot who is determined to uncover the truth about obama's citizenship status. It makes no sense at all, if obama was a US Citizen at birth, that he would continue to hide that truth from the millions of people wanting to know it. And yet he does, at tax-payer expense, and has for over two years. Many lawsuits have been thrown out. Why? Perhaps this is the only way to get at the truth. Me? I am honored to have a man with this level of integrity and honor fighting on our side. Thank you Lt. Col Lakin. Your willingness to stand against a tyrannical, arrogant, faux-Commander-In-Chief is courageous and admirable. I truly pray to God that you are exonerated and obama is exposed as having been born not as a citizen by birthright. It would be perhaps the final nail in the illegitimate and treasonous coffin he has designed for himself as he pushes us further and further from the Constitution. God be with you!

If You Aren't Outraged By This president's Antics, You Are Not paying Attention!

Surprise, Surprise!

I'm sure you are all aware of the June 28, 2010 ruling by the Supreme Court regarding our Second Amendment Right to bear arms as individuals (as opposed to only as state militias). Our Second Amendment Right was narrowly upheld - by a 5 to 4 vote. But here's the surprise - and I admit it may come as no surprise to any of you.

I received a letter from my Representative - Bill Posey. He's a good guy who I hope retains his position; he's only been in Congress for 18 months. In his letter he explained the following - not necessarily in the terms I've chosen to use.

Justice Sotomayor, that beacon of progressive honor, integrity and truth, who stated during her confirmation hearings that she understood "the individual right [to bear arms] fully that the supreme court recognized in Heller". For those who don't know, the Heller case struck down the Washington DC gun ban. She further told the committee during her hearings that Heller was "settled law" and that she understood "how important the right to bear arms is to many, many Americans"

Ok, that sounds good for the Second Amendment, right? Well, you know if I'm writing about it that's not the case. Here's what she wrote as dissenting opinion on the McDonald case:

"In sum, the Framers [of the Constitution] did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self defense."

Really? With all due respect Judge (which I must admit is not much), you were there? Oh, wait, I get it! You think that the individual's right to bear arms was misinterpreted from the start, and the Framers didn't clarify it? Oh, I see. Are you nuts? The Founders could not have been more conscious of the clarity of their words if they were walking dictionaries! So, Judge, just who the hell are you to misinterpret, and try to rewrite, our Constitution? Given your current record of "honesty and integrity" as outlined in this post, the Founders wouldn't have even used you to shine their shoes, nevermind give an opinion on Constitutional Law!

And Then There's This...

a final thought before signing off for the night. It has occurred to me that we are all born the same, all liberals. And as we work our way through school and then life, some of us begin to think for ourselves. And that's when we become conservative...

If You Are Not Outraged By What Is Going On In This Country, Perhaps You Haven't Learned The Art Of Thinking...

I Got This Email Today...

I thought I'd share this with you today. I am quite sure that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people are feeling quite overwhelmed and depressed because of the shenanigans of the government, just like the writer. Notice I didn't say "our" government in that last statement. They are certainly not representing the wishes of the people. Here you go...

I like your optimism but I can't get my head around it because it depresses me so much to think that they can manipulate whatever we do to whatever way they want...Look at the ruling this week in AZ are you really f.....kidding me? The people there have had enough. They come into [my husband's] store all the time saying first hand how bad it is and yet the GOVERNMENT does not listen, but what is worse is they disregard their AZ fight and then say you CAN'T DO IT, it is OUR job. But then they ignore it and won't do THEIR job. Dave you have much more stamina than I do; I am so discouraged ... NOW is that any way to live?

It is way too overwhelming scary and depressing. Every time I think OK the people will prevail the Government just dismisses what the people are yelling, spits in our faces and DOES exactly what they want  - legal or illegal. I can't imagine it will change, because the hooks are too far in.

I don't know how you keep fighting. I commend you. But I don't know how you aren't depressed!

Love you lot's and miss you

And my response...

Hehe, optimism? No, I keep going out of fear. As for AZ, when the last option in our toolbox has been used - a trip to the US Supreme Court, which has already ruled that states can do what AZ did - if it goes against AZ I believe the people will see what's going on. Certainly, as a nation of laws, we have to allow the process to play out. But laws are also to be made for the people, by the people... not by the ruling class, against the people's wishes. So if it does not play out the way it should, then I believe you'll see matters taken into 'the people's' hands in that state.
In my opinion, much of what obama does is treasonous. He continues to thwart the will of the people, with no apparent concern for the consequences. He continues to push the boundaries of his position and the Constitution, with complete disregard for the security of the nation or the spirit of the Constitution. I find that all quite interesting. But I believe it is because he has an ace up his sleeve. If, when the power in Congress shifts to the Republicans, they decide to try him for treason, he will play the race card - or one of his cronies will - and we'll end up in a race/class war. Perhaps, in the grand scheme of things, that's what he is pushing for. He certainly has set the stage for such a thing to happen with all his rhetoric. It will lead to a collapse of industry, perhaps financial institutions, transportation - everything. And then the progressives can remake the country into a socialist one. Just a scenario that I don't find all that implausible.

As for the possibility of our succeeding? We won't know in our lifetime I don't think. It's like the great cathedrals of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries that took hundreds of years to complete as stone was carved by hand out of the ground, transported to the building site, shaped, placed, shored up, etc. People worked on those cathedrals all their adult lives and died, sometimes never having seen the finished product. But we see it. That's what I hope, wish and pray for [my grandson]. I hope what we are building today, he will see in his adult life. We have spent our lives bringing up our kids, but other than that [we] really committed to no ideal - we might be the 1st or 2nd generation like that. Everyone asks, what's the meaning of life? Well, God has provided us the meaning for our lives - to preserve freedom and liberty for our grandchildren. Dramatic? Maybe, but it might also be true. I choose to believe there is still a better life for [my grandson] 30 or 40 years from now. And if not him, then his children. But that won't happen if we all just put our heads on our pillow and go to sleep. This battle is not going to magically go away. This is not a dream. And all those people who know what is happening, but choose to do nothing, will have to watch their grandchildren, or nephews and nieces, or just strangers live in a nation under much harder and much harsher conditions than the one we came into. So it stands to you and me to make our children aware of the seriousness of the times, and it is up to each of them to do the same with their friends. I said a long time ago that before this was over we would lose [some of the] friends we had, maybe even family members who didn't think as we did. It happened in the civil war, it is happening now. It's still worth it to me so that I can ensure that [my grandson's] world is better than the one I envision we're headed towards.

If I'm wrong, there is no harm - I have [only] lost a few friends. But if I'm right, then I can always be proud that I took the time to do what I felt was necessary to preserve freedom in America.

I'll leave you with this, because this is how we are all feeling... It was posted on my blog back on February 9th entitled 'Wisdom'. Not sure if you had a chance to see it. This is what I want for my country. I want people to want to come to America because of what she represents. And I will plod along, doing my thing, and making as much impact as I can. Remember the stone in a pond illustration, and how the ripples expand. Perhaps, a lone voice can inspire those ripples at some point in time as well. Perhaps people aren't quite ready to hear. There are hundreds, no thousands of others like me. And there are many more who do not blog who believe as I do. Plug this into youtube and enjoy!

If You Aren't Outraged, You Aren't paying Attention

Liberals, Ask Yourself As You Read This, "Is Obama Really Up To The Challenge Of The Office?" And Be Honest And Objective With Your Answer

Hold on here...

While McConnell articulates the broken Obama policies well, the rest of this article is rhetoric about what the Republican Party will do if we put them in charge. That's all well and good Senator McConnell. You want our support? Show us the action, not the words. This from http://republican.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Blogs.View

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) delivered remarks to the Young Republican Leadership Conference earlier today on the Democrat agenda in Washington and Republican efforts to counter it. The following are his prepared remarks --

“Thank you. It's wonderful to be here.

“You know, you guys may be young Republicans. But even if you’ve only followed politics for the past year and a half you’ve already learned some important lessons that I hope you’ll carry with you for a lifetime: You now know what happens when Democrats are in charge… And you now know what a difference a year and a half can make…

“So this morning I’d like to talk a little bit about what’s happened here in Washington over the past year and a half. And share some thoughts about what it means for our country and our party.

“Let me start by asking you to cast your minds back to January 2009. President Obama was being sworn in as President. Democrats were flying high. And the American people were eager to see their plan for addressing the nation’s problems. Hope was famously in the air.

“Meanwhile, Republicans were portrayed as beaten down, demoralized, and despondent. We were more likely to be a late night punch line than a relevant part of Obama’s Washington. I'm sure you all remember it well.

“But something happened on the way to the political graveyard.

“The Democrats actually had to govern.

“First, they shoved a trillion dollar stimulus down the throat of the American people promising it would create 4 million jobs and keep unemployment under 8%.

“Then they introduced a budget, a budget that doubled the debt in 5 years and tripled it in 10.

“And then they turned to health care.

“Along the way, pundits in Washington were stunned to find out that ordinary Americans, like you in this room, were rising up all over the country. And those Republicans in Washington — the ones who were supposed to be beaten down, demoralized, and despondent — well, we were listening. We shared your frustration. And we girded for the fight, confident that we had supporters behind us. We broke out of the Washington echo chamber and fought the government-driven solutions that Democrats were proposing. We got our groove back.

“Just a few months after Inauguration day, the Republicans who voted against the Stimulus, unanimously opposed the budget and said no to closing GITMO weren’t reviled as obstructionists. At least not outside of Washington.

“We were congratulated for taking a stand.
“The beaten down, demoralized, despondent Republican minority that Washington dismissed as an afterthought found its voice by looking beyond Washington.

We found that voice in the American people. We didn’t apologize for opposing government takeovers and runaway spending. We wore it as a badge of honor.

“And that’s when the Democrats’ hold on power started to crack. The people of New Jersey elected a governor who was willing to take the unions to task. Virginia elected a conservative Republican in a state that President Obama had won just a year earlier. Then we got the political equivalent of a square circle: a Republican senator from Massachusetts.

“The cracks in the Democrats’ foundation continued to spread. And today, just a year and a half after Democrats took over, confident that Washington bureaucrats had the answers to our problems, virtually every survey you look at shows that Americans have lost faith in the Democrat leadership and in government period.

“As it turns out, when your entire pitch to the American people is that government will solve your problems, people get upset when government can’t deliver.

“That’s one reason Democrats are so unpopular right now.

“It’s why Republicans are on a comeback.

“And we got there by listening, rather than talking.

“I know that’s a novel concept in Washington, D.C. But that’s exactly what happened. We listened. And then we fought, confident in our principles and in the support of people like you, who had made their voices heard.

“Republicans in Congress didn’t water down our principles. We didn’t listen to the experts who suggested we duck and cover. We fought back.

“So where does that leave us today?

“Well, according to the prognosticators, it leaves us in a good place politically.

“If the election were held today, they say, we’d probably have a good day.

“But this isn’t about a political horse race. If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past few years, it’s that Americans don’t particularly care about who’s up and who’s down, as long as the people they elect put the interests of their constituents and the interests of the country first. So this isn’t about who’s on top. It’s about following through on the kinds of changes Americans want to see.
“It’s about reversing the damage Democrats have done.

“It’s about solving the crises in front of us.

“And those crises should be plain enough for anybody to see.

“It doesn’t take a genius to see that the government is out of control.

“It doesn't take an accountant to see that we have a debt crisis.

“It doesn't take an economist to see that what our economy needs at the moment are good, lasting, private-sector jobs.

“It doesn’t take night vision goggles to see that our borders need securing.

“And it doesn’t take a political scientist to see that the Democrats in charge are doing little or nothing to address these and other serious problems that we face.

“It’s not that the Democrats haven’t been busy. They’ve been busier than ever. But rather than being busy addressing the crises in front of them, they’ve all adopted Rahm Emanuel’s 7-word manifesto for governance: “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

“The evidence of that cynical approach is everywhere.

“We needed jobs, and they gave us a trillion dollar boondoggle they call a Stimulus. We needed lower health care costs, and we got a 2,000 page bill that’s expected to increase them. We wanted to put an end the idea that some companies are too big to fail. Today they’re trying to pass a bill that institutionalizes it. Arizona needed the federal government to secure its border. They got named in a federal lawsuit.

“And for nearly three months, we’ve needed to fix a broken pipe at the bottom of the Gulf. And what we got instead was a proposal from the President for another plank in the far-left agenda — a radical, far-reaching scheme to impose a new national energy tax on every American.

“In every case, the administration saw a crisis and used it to achieve some other long-desired goal of the left. And the crisis remained.

“The trillion dollar stimulus that promised to keep unemployment at 8% didn’t prevent 9.5% unemployment and a loss of nearly 3 million more American jobs.

“The new health care law, according to the Administration’s own actuary, will bring us higher, not lower health care costs.
“The financial regulation bill doesn’t do a thing to reform the two institutions that played what may have been the leading role in creating the financial mess in the first place.

“A President who vowed in his inaugural address to manage the public's dollars wisely delivered a budget to Congress a few months after being sworn in that would add more to the national debt in 10 years than every President before him combined.

“Along the border we continue to see illegal border crossings, kidnappings, lawlessness.

“And day after day after day, the pipe at the bottom of the Gulf continues to gush.
“On issue after issue, the administration’s solutions to our problems have only made our problems worse.

“And yet they still crave more power, more of your tax dollars, more responsibility.

“Well, Americans are tired of politicians who promise one thing and deliver another.

“Let’s start with competence.

“I mean, wouldn’t it be nice to have representatives in Washington who actually represent you instead of making life-altering decisions on your behalf — and against your will — all the time?

“Wouldn’t it be nice to have a government that does more to solve problems than create them?

“Wouldn’t it be nice to have a government that spent within its means?

“Wouldn’t it be nice for people to be able to make local decisions locally, without having to ask permission from distant and unaccountable bureaucrats in Washington?

“This isn’t that hard.
“Our task is pretty simple.

“Our job is to force what my friend George Will calls a retreat of the state.

“What Republicans are offering the American people is a pledge, a pledge to do everything in our power to restore government to a size and scope that leads to some semblance of competency.

“We’re not going to tell you that if you vote Republican you’re going to wake-up in your dream home with a brand new Corvette outside ready to take you to the best job in the world.

“You know why?

“Because government can’t deliver that promise.

“What government can do — and what we’ve seen it attempt to do repeatedly over the past year and a half — is take away the freedoms that enable those dreams to come true.

“So we need you to help us take the next step.

“We’re still listening. And we’ll make government start listening. Start learning. Stop imposing its will and start implementing solutions. And for heaven's sake, stop spending money we don’t have on things we don’t need.

“The voices of conservatives that sparked a chorus across the country have brought Republicans half way back to where we need to be. But we need your voice to help us get all the way home.

“We’ve been called radicals, obstructionists, crooks and thieves. Our motives have been questioned, our ideas ridiculed, and our enthusiasm mocked.

“Let it fuel you.

“I’ll tell you something.

“The politics of personal destruction is always the last gasp of a politician on the ropes.

“That’s why you can’t pick up a newspaper these days without reading about some Democrat trying to convince people that their opponent is a crazy person.

“Their opponents aren't crazy.

“What’s crazy is a $13 trillion debt.

“Out of touch? Scheduling more tee times than Phil Mickelson during the greatest environmental disaster in our nation’s history is out of touch.

“Their opponents aren’t wrong.

“Asking our children and grandchildren to pick up the tab tomorrow for Democrats’ inability to control spending today is wrong.

“So have confidence.
“Hold your heads high.

“Work your tails off.
“Speak up.

“And when it is all said and done I promise you, we’ll be listening.”

For The Sake Of The Republican Party, I Surely Do Hope You Will Be Listening...

So Many Issues; When Will He Stop!?

From: Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA

Date: Thursday 29 JUL 2010 3 p.m. EDT

IT GETS MUCH WORSE!

NEW OBAMA OFFICIALS' MEMOS SHOW PLAN TO AMNESTY MILLIONS WITHOUT ANY VOTE IN CONGRESS

The U.S. Senators who have been demanding answers from the Administration about a rumored administrative amnesty have now revealed shocking memos from top Obama officials.

They show Obama Administration officials offering a detailed plan that would offer actual or de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens without Congress ever taking a vote.

In this way, the Administration would be able to reap the thanks of all the cheap-labor, outlaw industries relying on illegal labor, as well as the entire pro-illegal voter base.
But no Member of Congress would have a vote for amnesty on his/her record while facing elections.

A day after a federal judge ruled that the people of Arizona can't enforce immigration laws against illegal aliens, this memo shows a grand plan for the Obama Administration to ensure that most illegal aliens get work permits, keep their jobs and prevent unemployed Americans from getting the jobs instead.

THIS IS A NEWS FLASH. WE WILL HAVE MORE TO SAY LATER.
Read our news story on our Home page.

Keep coming back through the evening and Friday as we put up new actions.

We must respond with the kind of outrage that will make the Obama Administration back away from this plan for incredible abuse of executive power.

Do What's Right, Not What's Convenient

Will you take the time to contact the House Ethics Committee as well? Here's what I wrote; a letter from you would be helpful as well.

Committee on Standards of Official Conduct

HT-2, The Capitol
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Congresswomen Lofgren and Castor, and Congressmen Bonner, Chandler, Butterfield, Welch, Conaway, Dent, Harper and McCaul,

It is with deepest concern that I write to you today. The matter of Charles Rangel’s ethic violations is of much concern to me. I am sure that you are aware of the standing Congress currently holds in the minds and hearts of Americans throughout this great nation – an 11% approval rating. While the reason(s) for that are extensive, corruption in Congress, whether perceived or real, is a primary factor.

Your committee has an opportunity to demonstrate to America that the percieved political corruption that has become commonplace in Washington over many decades will no longer be tolerated once identified. You may say, well Mr. Rangel has 40 years of exemplary government service. But in the biggest picture, that does not matter. If Congress is truly willing to work to change the perception America holds of that institution, then integrity, honor, and principle must be that institutions primary focus regardless of whom the principal, or what the issue, is. There is no place for politics in this equation any longer.

I am tired of witnessing the show of consequence (rather than real consequence) when corrupt politicians are caught with their hand in the cookie jar. That is no longer acceptable. America is too aware of the fact that we have neglected to hold Congress accountable, and that Congress has neglected to hold themselves accountable. That must change. It must start with this instance.

I am looking forward to watching how your committee reacts to this severe breach of ethics, and hope you all have the fortitude to do what is right, as opposed to what is convenient. I trust that most Americans feel the same way. There can be no more special interest, only America’s best interest! Please guide your decisions and actions accordingly.

The American people continue to watch what is happening in Washington. We are watching who chooses to be part of the solution to the challenges facing America, as opposed to those who choose to be part of the problem - the status quo. I trust you will all choose wisely.

Get Involved; Take An Active Part In The Process

Don't Elect "Bad Men"

"When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, "just men who will rule in the fear of God." The preservation of [our] government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded. If [our] government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine Commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the Laws." - Noah Webster

These words are as relevent, if not more so, today as they were when they were written in 1823. Every American should keep them in mind as we prepare for the 2010 mid-term elections in November. Deep inside we all know right from wrong. So forget your political leanings, what does your gut say?

Vote on the side of right!

States, Reclaim Your Power!

No amendment in our Bill of Rights is more deeply rooted in American history, politics, and government than our Tenth Amendment. Its roots are deep in the colonies’ histories, in the framing and ratification of our first constitution, our Articles of Confederation, and in the framing and ratification of our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. . It should be enough for us to know that the Tenth Amendment’s protection of federalism—of each state’s right to govern its own internal affairs except for those few areas of authority which the states delegated to our central government in the Constitution and those few powers which the states forbade to themselves in our fundamental law—was not an afterthought but an explicit reaffirmation of a principle that is absolutely fundamental to our constitutional system of civil government.

No amendment is of more practical importance than our Tenth Amendment for protecting what remains of our liberty and recovering the huge percentage of liberty that previous generations, and we ourselves, have surrendered to the Federal Leviathan. For our federal system was and still is a system of separation of powers with checks and balances between our national/central government and our states’ governments. Our state governments have powers which can be used against central government usurpations. And our state and local government officials, not to mention our states’ citizens, have means of influencing the officials of our national government to obey the oaths of office which all our elected and appointed officials take to uphold our Constitution.

It is encouraging to see that more and more of our elected officials, particularly at the state level, are realizing the importance of our Tenth Amendment to the proper functioning of state government and its function as the gateway to the preservation of our liberty. - Except from American Vision

Do You Find This Set Of Events At All Suspicious?

Is it likely that in the last 14 weeks there have been two major oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico and now we're learning of this one in Michigan? What are the odds? Add to those events the apparent agenda by the obama administration to force us off oil and into "green energy" through Cap & Trade legislation. Is it just me, or does it make you wonder a little bit about the timing of all this? Here's the article.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Federal officials now estimate that more than 1 million gallons of oil may have spilled into a major river in southern Michigan, and the governor is sharply criticizing clean-up efforts as "wholly inadequate."

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released the update Wednesday night, shortly after Gov. Jennifer Granholm lambasted attempts to contain the oil flowing down the Kalamazoo River. She warned of a "tragedy of historic proportions" if the oil reaches Lake Michigan, which is still at least 80 miles downstream from where oil has been seen.

Granholm called on the federal government for more help, saying resources being marshaled by the EPA and Enbridge Inc., which owns the pipeline that leaked the oil, were "wholly inadequate."

Calgary, Alberta-based Enbridge said earlier Wednesday that it had redoubled its efforts to clean up the mess. Chief executive Patrick D. Daniel said the company had made "significant progress," though he had no update on a possible cause, cost or timeframe for the cleanup. The company didn't return messages for comment after Granholm's statements.

The overall work force on the spill Wednesday was likely more than 400 people.

EPA officials said they're ramping up efforts with air and water testing. Local officials said they weren't concerned about municipal water supplies.

Tom Sands, deputy state director for emergency management and homeland security, said during a conference call with Granholm that he had seen oil past a dam at Morrow Lake. The lake is a key point in the river near a Superfund site upstream of Kalamazoo, the largest city in the region.

But his report could not be immediately confirmed. The company's latest update statement Wednesday said oil was about seven miles short of the opening to Morrow Lake. A press conference scheduled for late Wednesday, which was to include company and EPA officials, was canceled for what a company spokesman called scheduling conflicts.

State and company officials previously said they didn't believe the oil would spread past that dam.

"It's going to hit a Superfund site unless somebody like the EPA and the company get very serious about providing significant additional resources," Granholm said.
The spill has killed fish and coated wildlife as it made its way westward about 35 miles downstream past Battle Creek, a city of 52,000 residents about 110 miles west of Detroit.

Both company and EPA officials have said oil is no longer leaking.

Enbridge has been working to clean up the spill since the leak was reported early Monday.

Before the EPA announced its new estimate, Enbridge reiterated its belief that about 819,000 gallons of oil spilled into Talmadge Creek, which flows into the Kalamazoo River. State officials said they were told during a company briefing Tuesday that about 877,000 gallons spilled, but company officials disputed the number.

An 800,000 gallon spill would be enough to fill 1-gallon jugs lined side by side for nearly 70 miles. It also could fill a wall-in football field including the end zones with a 14-foot-high pool of oil.

Granholm has declared a state of disaster for some areas along the river, and President Barack Obama called Granholm to offer federal support.

An oily reflective sheen could be seen in patches along the Kalamazoo, and the affected area still had a strong odor, although not as strong as on Tuesday.

Anil Kulkarni, a mechanical engineering professor at Penn State University, said a quick response was vital to the river's ecology. Snails, frogs, muskrats and even birds eat, live and nest on or near the riverbank.

"The river banks are nearby. It has more potential to inflict damage because of the proximity to land. Anything that comes in contact with oil is going to be affected badly. It prevents the natural life of species, whether it's collecting food or anything else."

Enbridge affiliates have previously been cited for skirting environmental regulations in the Great Lakes region.

Houston-based Enbridge Energy Co. spilled almost 19,000 gallons of crude oil onto Wisconsin's Nemadji River in 2003. Another 189,000 gallons of oil spilled at the company's terminal two miles from Lake Superior, though most was contained.

In 2007, two spills released about 200,000 gallons of crude in northern Wisconsin as Enbridge was expanding a 320-mile pipeline. The company also was accused of violating Wisconsin permits designed to protect water quality during work in and around wetlands, rivers and streams, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said. The violations came during construction of a 321-mile, $2 billion oil pipeline across that state. Enbridge agreed to pay $1.1 million in 2009.

The Michigan leak came from a 30-inch pipeline, which was built in 1969 and carries about 8 million gallons of oil daily from Griffith, Ind., to Sarnia, Ontario.

The river already faced major pollution issues. An 80-mile segment of the river that begins at Morrow Lake and five miles of a tributary, Portage Creek, have unsafe levels of PCBs and were placed on the federal Superfund list of high-priority hazardous waste sites in 1990. The Kalamazoo site also includes four landfills and several defunct paper mills.

Maybe, Just Maybe, The Rose Colored Glasses, Worn So Proudly By The Liberal Masses, Are Coming Off

Our Divisive President

By PATRICK H. CADDELL AND DOUGLAS E. SCHOEN through the Wall Street Journal July 28, 2010. Mr. Caddell served as a pollster for President Jimmy Carter. Mr. Schoen, who served as a pollster for President Bill Clinton, is the author of "The Political Fix" (Henry Holt, 2010).

Barack Obama promised a new era of post-partisanship. In office, he's played racial politics and further split the country along class and party lines.

During the election campaign, Barack Obama sought to appeal to the best instincts of the electorate, to a post-partisan sentiment that he said would reinvigorate our democracy. He ran on a platform of reconciliation—of getting beyond "old labels" of right and left, red and blue states, and forging compromises based on shared values.

President Obama's Inaugural was a hopeful day, with an estimated 1.8 million people on the National Mall celebrating the election of America's first African-American president. The level of enthusiasm, the anticipation and the promise of something better could not have been more palpable.

And yet, it has not been realized. Not at all.

Rather than being a unifier, Mr. Obama has divided America on the basis of race, class and partisanship. Moreover, his cynical approach to governance has encouraged his allies to pursue a similar strategy of racially divisive politics on his behalf.

The 'Beer Summit': President Barack Obama, right, and Vice President Joe Biden, left, have a beer with Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., second from left, and Cambridge, Mass. police Sgt. James Crowley in the Rose Garden of the White House, July 30, 2009.

We have seen the divisive approach under Republican presidents as well—particularly the administrations of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. By dividing America, Mr. Obama has brought our government to the brink of a crisis of legitimacy, compromising our ability to address our most important policy issues.
We say this with a heavy heart. Both of us share the president's stated vision of what America can and should be. The struggle for equal rights has animated both of our lives. Both of us were forged politically during the crucible of the civil rights movement. Having worked in the South during the civil rights movement, and on behalf of the ground-breaking elections of African-American mayors such as David Dinkins, Harold Washington and Emanuel Cleaver, we were deeply moved by Mr. Obama's election.

The first hint that as president Mr. Obama would be willing to interject race into the political dialogue came last July, when he jumped to conclusions about the confrontation between Harvard Prof. Henry Louis "Skip" Gates and the Cambridge police.

During a press conference, the president said that the "Cambridge police acted stupidly," and he went on to link the arrest with the "long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately."

In truth, the Gates incident appears to have had nothing to do with race—a Cambridge review committee that investigated the incident ruled on June 30 that there was fault on both sides.

Sen. Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) has said the president told him in a closed-door meeting that he would not move to secure the border with Mexico unless and until Congress reached a breakthrough on comprehensive immigration reform. That's another indication Mr. Obama is willing to continue to play politics with hot-button issues.

Add in the lawsuit against the Arizona immigration law and it's clear the Obama administration is willing to run the risk of dividing the American people along racial and ethnic lines to mobilize its supporters—particularly Hispanic voters, whose backing it needs in the fall midterm elections and beyond.

As the Washington Post reported last week, two top White House strategists, speaking on condition of anonymity, have indicated that "the White House plans to use the immigration debate to punish the GOP and aggressively seek the Latino vote in 2012."

On an issue that has gotten much less attention, but is potentially just as divisive, the Justice Department has pointedly refused to prosecute three members of the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation at the polls on Election Day 2008.

It is the job of the Department of Justice to protect all American voters from voter discrimination and voter intimidation—whether committed by the far right, the far left, or the New Black Panthers. It is unacceptable for the Department of Justice to continue to stonewall on this issue.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Mr. Obama's campaign emphasized repeatedly that his minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was being unfairly stereotyped because of racially incendiary sound bites that allegedly did not reflect the totality of his views. In the Gates incident and others, Mr. Obama has resorted to similar forms of stereotyping.

Even the former head of the Civil Rights Commission, Mary Frances Berry, acknowledged that the Obama administration has taken to polarizing America around the issue of race as a means of diverting attention away from other issues, saying: "the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. . . Having one's opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness."

The president had a unique opportunity to focus on overarching issues of importance to whites and blacks. He has failed to address the critical challenges. He has not used his bully pulpit to emphasize the importance of racial unity and the common interest of poor whites and blacks who need training, job opportunities, and the possibility of realizing the American Dream. He hasn't done enough to address youth unemployment—which in the white community is 23.2% and in the black community is 39.9%.

Mr. Obama has also cynically divided the country on class lines. He has taken to playing the populist card time and time again. He bashes Wall Street and insurance companies whenever convenient to advance his programs, yet he has been eager to accept campaign contributions and negotiate with these very same banks and corporations behind closed doors in order to advance his political agenda.

Finally, President Obama also exacerbated partisan division, and he has made it clear that he intends to demonize the Republicans and former President George W. Bush in the fall campaign. In April, the Democratic National Committee released a video in which the president directly addressed his divide-and-conquer campaign strategy, with an appeal to: "young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again."

President Obama's divisive approach to governance has weakened us as a people and paralyzed our political culture. Meanwhile, the Republican leadership has failed to put forth an agenda that is more positive, unifying or inclusive. We are stronger when we debate issues and purpose, and we are all weaker when we divide by race and class. We will pay a price for this type of politics.

What About The Rest Of You Liberals? Can You Get Past Your Emotion And Look At This Guy Objectively?

Is Abdication Of Their Oath Treasonous?

Article 4, Section 4, The Constitution of the United States: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Well, we know how they will react to any tea party "domestic violence", real, imagined, or contrived. But how do they get around the part about guaranteeing a "republican form of government" under this socialistic administration? And how can they possibly not recognize what's occurring in Arizona as an "invasion". That word is described in the dictionary as "infringement by intrusion".

Change the make-up of Congress in November, then start the treason proceedings...

'Tis curious and amazing to observe how distinct and independent of each other the rattles of this animal are, and yet how firmly they are united together, so as never to be separated but by breaking them to pieces. One of those rattles singly, is incapable of producing sound, but the ringing of thirteen together, is sufficient to alarm the boldest man living." - American Guesser (perhaps Benjamin Franklin)

Rights And Priveleges Vs Duties And Responsibilities; The Choice Is Clear

This is more true today than when it was written last October. I have tried to articulate this message myself, but Regina Brown does a wonderful job of it. Please don't wait to get engaged in this battle. And when you do get engaged, please stay engaged. Don't leave it to the few to try to get the truth out. Take an active part. Read on...

Is It Worth It?
by Regina Brown

America is in a challenging time. A time, like few before, that will have a permanent impact on the direction of this country. Our nation is in the midst of deciding more freedom or less freedom, more self reliance or more government reliance, more of God or less of God, or maybe even none of God.

Some of you, who read my posts, know me personally, but many do not. For those of you, who don’t know me; let me give you some background. I love my country. I love my God and I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He has never let me down. For 20+ years I was a single mother of two children, a smart, funny, compassionate boy and a multi-talented extraordinary girl. Both are now married, serving the Lord and contributing to the good of society and I am now re-married. While raising my children, I worked in the mortgage industry and participated politically, although not as much as I have been lately. I thought, like many Americans, that voting and raising my voice on occasion, was all that was needed. That those elected to office were “looking out for us.” I see you snickering, but didn’t you?

I no longer believe that. I believe Washington has become obese with power and corruption and few even remember that they were sent there to represent. This realization has motivated me to be more vocal, more active and more aggressive in trying to inform others. I had become weary in well doing. I found myself wondering, what is the use? Is anyone listening? Is it worth it? I spent 30 years building a mortgage business to see it decimated by industry and government corruption. I moved on to the insurance and securities industry, which I’m afraid, may take the same route as the mortgage industry. And the corruption in Washington reigns on.

I have painted on the back window of my Mini-Van “I am 1 of the ‘Angry Mob’.” I have been considering removing it, feeling it was pointless, perhaps offending. Yesterday, as I was out trying to build yet another business, I had the radio on, tuned to conservative talk. A mother called in distraught with the conditions of the country. She said she was a 51 year old mother of a 6 year old. She was crying. She said she could no longer support this corrupt government and was not going to send them anymore tax dollars. The host encouraged her to reconsider, because her 6 year old needed her at home and not in jail. It was very emotional. At the same time a car pulled up next to me. It was an elderly man, perhaps in his late 70’s. He was connected to a portable oxygen tank. He turned his head slowly and looked me in the eye, raised his hand and gave me the thumbs up. Why? He had read my back window. I heard that still small voice say “Is It Worth It?” I cried the rest of the way home…and am still emotional as I write about it. I will never forget the look on that man’s face. I felt he was saying, “Thank You”.

So, for the 51 year old mother of a 6 yr old, for the elderly gentleman next to me on oxygen, and for you, I will keep on. I will shrug off this “weariness in well doing” and I will continue to fight for the inalienable rights endowed by our creator. I invite you to join me. You may not be able to do the same things I do, but you can do something. I urge you to stay informed, seek the truth, and communicate what you learn.

“The choice before us is plain. Christ or Chaos, conviction or compromise, discipline or disintegration. I am rather tired of hearing about our rights and privileges as American citizens. The time is come, it now is, when we ought to hear about the duties and responsibilities of our citizenship. America’s future depends upon her accepting and demonstrating God’s government.” - Peter Marshall, The Rebirth of America.

We Are No Longer A Government Of The People, By The People, For The People, But A Government Of The Government, By The Government, For The Government. - Mike Huckabee. Welcome To Your Worst Nightmare

Charlie Rangel Introduces HR 5741 - Can You See The Danger In Providing The President The Kind Of Power This Bill Authorizes?

While I believe that military service is a good thing for most Americans to enter into, as it builds character, pride of country, teamwork and tolerance to name a few things, I do not believe it should be mandated by the government. This bill is so ambiguous and provides so much unchecked power to the President that it is a danger to the survival of the Republic. Ostensibly, if passed, this legislation will allow the President to "declare a national emergency, which the President determines necessitates the induction of persons to perform military service, and immediately informs Congress of the reasons for the declaration and the need to induct persons for military service". He would have the authority to determine "The types, manner, standards and means of satisfactory civilian service that may be performed in order for a person to satisfy the person’s national service obligation under this title."

So, in today's environment, where the presidency and congress are controlled by a runaway and out of control progressive faction of the left, if this law were already in place, what would constitute a national emergency? Is it defined in the bill? I couldn't find it. There are other definitions listed, but not that one. Would the projection of a million people meeting on the mall in Washington to protest government actions (or non actions) constitute a "national emergency"? Two Million? Five million? Does this bill provide the President the authority to create "a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded as our military", which obama spoke about in his July 2, 2008 speech ? Hmmm, and who pays for that? And where does that money come from - the Money Tree in the Rose Garden? It appears that's the environment H.R. 5741 creates.

Not to confuse the issue, but there's another bill out there H.R.675 (http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h675/text), which is designed "To amend title 10, United States Code, to provide police officers, criminal investigators, and game law enforcement officers of the Department of Defense with authority to execute warrants, make arrests, and carry firearms." Hmmm, civilians, executing warrants... hey, a "civilian national security force". Now that's... interesting.

Here's the article on H.R. 5741...

Slavery bill H.R. 5741 is now in debate

July 26, 9:31 PM Long Beach City Buzz Examiner Danita Craft

H.R. 5741 is now being debated - 2 years of forced labor from everyone between 18 and 42

H..R. 5741 is currently being argued in the house of representatives. If passed, H.R. 5741 will give the president the power to require 2 years of compulsory service from every US resident between ages 18 and 42. That's not a misprint: everyone between ages eighteen and forty-two will be required to serve in any capacity at the president's whim.

This bill will destroy US commerce as citizens are reassigned to service. The bill's sponsor is Charles Rangel, a democrat from New York. The bill does not yet have a co-sponsor. It was introduced on July 15th and is now before the armed services committee.

Prison Planet reports, "Under this new legislation nearly all, able bodied Americans will be sentenced to two years of forced labor. The infrastructure is already in place for those unwilling to participate in mandatory service and now the army is looking to fill it’s ranks with Interment/Resettlement Specialists."

"The slavery bill is currently in debate in the House Committee on Armed Services chaired by Rep Ike Skelton a democrat from Missouri. Those who oppose mandatory slavery should contact Rep. Skelton. Many bills die in committee and this bill should meet the same fate."

The slavery bill H.R. 5741 is now being debated. It will allow the president to require 2 years of service between every US resident between 18 and 42. The Libertarian Examiner says. "The bill HR 5741 is government sanctioned slavery. Read it and weep."

On The Hijacking Of Main Street Media

Re: The Left

"The Journolist has started to leak like an overripe diaper. Just in case you've been living in a cave, or if you only get your news from MSNBC, here's the story. A young blogger, Ezra Klein, formerly of the avowedly left-wing American Prospect and now with the avowedly mainstream Washington Post, founded the e-mail listserv 'Journolist' for like-minded liberals to hash out and develop ideas. Some 400 people joined the by-invitation-only group. Most, it seems, were in the media, but many hailed from academia, think tanks and the world of forthright liberal activism generally. They spoke freely about their political and personal biases, including their hatred of Fox and Rush Limbaugh, and their utter loyalty to the progressive cause and Democratic success. That off-the-record intellectual bacchanalia has started to haunt the participants like an inexplicable rash after a wild party during fleet week. ... Perhaps stretching the diaper metaphor too far, what's inside Journolist may stink, but it's no surprise that it does. ... Journolist is a symptom, not the disease. And the disease is not a secret conspiracy but something more like the 'Open Conspiracy' H.G. Wells fantasized about, where the smartest, best people at every institution make their progressive vision for the world their top priority. ... For a liberal activist that's forgivable, I guess. But academics? Reporters? Editors? Even liberal opinion writers aren't supposed to 'coordinate' their messages with the mothership." --columnist Jonah Goldberg

Opinion in Brief

"The real problem with JournoList is that much of it consisted of exchanges among people who worked for institutions about how to best hijack their employers for the cause of Progressivism. Thus, the J-List discussion revealed [last week] in the Daily Caller was about how the group could get their media organizations to play down the Reverend Wright affair and help elect Barack Obama. Were I an editor of one of these institutions, I would instantly fire any employee who participated in this gross violation of his/her duty. For example, the J-List included Washington Post reporters, and the idea that the paper has been turned into a propaganda organ is a big reason it is bleeding readers and influence. Of course, it is possible that the Post's editors were on the list, since the membership is not known, in which case the corporate executives should fire the editors, or the board should fire the executives, or the stockholders should fire the board. (If Director Warren Buffet was on J-List, I give up.) So here, JournoList is composed not of reporters who happen to be 'Progressives,' but of Progressives who boast about how to perfect and use their capture of their employers. This is in itself institutional rot, but the more serious rot is the failure of the managers of those institutions to react to the problem." --James DeLong of the American Enterprise Institute

No Place For Logic When It Comes To Liberalism

I found this on the blog Virtual Mirage. If this doesn't demonstrate to you the ineptitude of the progressive argument, perhaps some flaw precludes you from the capacity to understand. You can apply this logic to any number of scenarios. Many, many patriotic Americans do understand this logic, and none, not one of us, will "go softly into the night".

I urge ALL patriotic constitution-loving Americans to stand together in support of Jan Brewer, who has taken a stand on the front lines of this battle against progressive destruction. There are other media and political figures out there taking a stand as well - Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota, Mike Pence of Indiana, Glenn Beck, Alan Keyes, Steve King of Iowa, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich - and some congressional wannabe's as well - Allan West, Marco Rubio to name two from Florida. We need to unite around them, support them morally and financially whenever and wherever we can. Here's the story...

PHOENIX SUNS vs The State of Arizona
The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes AZ's new immigration laws. Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:

"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?" -Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer

(h/t Sally E.)

Sally E. sent me the response by Gov. Jan Brewer in an e-mail. It serves to underscore the weak position liberals take when they oppose AZ 1070. It's easy to be a socialist and spend other people's money, but when it comes to your own funds, it's quite a different thing.

I make a similar challenge to other great socialists of our time: Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, barack hussein obama, etc. - When you become Ghandi and give all you have to the poor and begin to walk the walk, I will begin to take you seriously. As it is, your position is one of bribing taxpayers with their own tax revenue to obtain votes.

Perhaps Support For The Suns Will Wane, Time Will Tell; Me, I'm Hoping It Does

Freedom Of Speech Under Attack

If you haven't noticed, the top cable news station - Fox News - is under attack. Reporters and opinion commentators for that organization are personally under attack as well. There is an orchestrated and coordinated attempt by left wing news media and the progressive political machine to discredit them - mostly through the use of "race tactics". For those of you who do not know, Fox touts itself as "fair and balanced" and while I don't think they are 100% unbiased in their reporting 100% of the time, they do air important stories that other stations do not. And they appear to try to be fair - giving both sides of a story or researchable and documented evidence to back up their side of the story. They also regularly have dissenting opinion counterbalancing their normally more conservative view.

So what's going on? If, like a lot of Americans, you believe the Constitution and the Republic are under attack, and that the Obama agenda is synonymous with the progressive agenda to push us to a more socialistic form of government, then the only answer is that it is imperative for their success to silence the critics of their agenda. Fox News may be in the spot light this week, but next week it might be talk radio, or bloggers on the Internet. Eventually, if we do not stand up for our right to free speech, and our right to listen to (or watch) whatever we choose, the First Amendment will become largely irrelevant.

If Fox News was not being truthful, and wasn't airing informative stories current to the issues of the day, how would they have become as big as they have? How would their audience share be growing, even as every other cable news network is shrinking? How could their audience be bigger than all other cable news stations combined? And why would the progressive media stations, and the progressive political machine need to attempt any discrediting campaign against them? Because the only thing that can stop the progressive agenda is the truth. They have started the end game towards socialism and can not back off - even if they wanted to. So they are in the game to win. I suggest we get in the game to win as well - and stand by our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.

Without those documents we are nothing more than a 2nd rate nation.

More Evidence That Jesse, Al, Jeremiah and Barack Have Squandered Their Leadership Opportunities

Race Bait Reality Check

By Mark Alexander · Thursday, July 22, 2010

Obama's Race-Card PlaybookYou know things are going well when your political opponents resort to the lowest form of Demogoguery -- race baiting.

Barack Obama has portrayed Tea Party Patriots as a gang of malcontents "waving their little teabags" and to ignorant for "a serious conversation." His Senior White House Adviser David Axelrod adds, "Any time that you have severe economic conditions, there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that's unhealthy."

Such undignified characterizations notwithstanding, Obama and his Leftist cadres are clearly concerned that an enlightened grassroots movement to restore Rule of Law will undermine their Socialist agenda.

Last week, Obama surrogates at the National Association to Agitate Colored People (NAACP) took over the effort to stir that pot. The NAACP calculus is simple: If they can coerce the Tea Party into defending itself against spurious charges of racism, they distract the movement from focusing on the abject failure of Barack Obama's policies.

NAACP president Ben Jealous warned, "The danger of the Tea Party is that people see them and think about periods in history when groups like them were much more powerful than they are now, and so a lot of what we spend energy doing is explaining to people what reality is, and that the reality is that the majority from 2008 still exists. ... What we take issue with is the Tea Party's continued tolerance for bigotry and bigoted statements. The time has come for them to accept the responsibility that comes with influence and make clear there is no place for racism and anti-Semitism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry in their movement."

Jealous and his hooligans went on to officially condemn the movement as "a threat to the pursuit of human rights, justice and equality for all" because of its "the racist elements."

Perhaps by "racist elements," Jealous was alluding to the fact that almost 25 percent of Tea Party participants are racial minorities? Of course not.

Vernon Parker, an Arizona Tea Party congressional candidate who is a black, offered this rejoinder: "The NAACP should be concerned about bringing jobs to people in depressed areas. Not the Tea Party."

South Carolina conservative congressional candidate Tim Scott, who is also a black, added, "I believe that the NAACP is making a grave mistake in stereotyping a diverse group of Americans who care deeply about their country and who contribute their time, energy and resources to make a difference."

Ward Connerly, founder of the American Civil Rights Institute, concludes, "[R]ace is the engine that drives the political Left. In the courtrooms, on college campuses, and, most especially, in our politics, race is a central theme. Where it does not naturally rise to the surface, there are those who will manufacture and amplify it. Such is the case with the claims that the 'Tea Partiers' are a bunch of racists... I am convinced beyond any doubt that all of this is part of the strategic plan being implemented by the Left in its current campaign to remake America."

Not to be outdone by the NAACP, that erstwhile protagonist of race-baiting mischief, the "Reverend" Al Sharpton, claimed, "The Tea Party, as a political philosophy, is to reverse what civil rights did and that is saying the federal government must protect people. There clearly are some racial leaves in their tea bag, but this is not just about race. It is about how you see government."

Sharpton, who has retained his official media celeb race-card status despite having fabricated the notorious Tawana Brawley rape hoax, is now treated with the same admiration as the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson, he of the Jew-baiting "Hymies" and "Hymietown" comments.

But perhaps the most influential purveyor of this sort of racism is the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who recently emerged from hiding to assert that Tea Party opposition to Obama's agenda is based on their hatred for "people of color."

Why is Wright the most influential of the race hustlers? He was Obama's religious mentor, an inexorable and unapologetic propagator of afrocentric liberation theology and its message of black supremacist doctrine and "social gospel" Marxism.

Wright officiated at Obama's wedding, baptized his daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope." In that book, Obama describes Wright as the "vessel carrying the story of a people into future generations and into a larger world."

What story did that "vessel" teach Obama?

In Wright's own words, "The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government gives [black people] drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strikes law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, g-d d--- America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. G-d d--- America for treating our citizens as less than human. G-d d---- America for as long as she acts like she is god and she is supreme."

Wright calls America "the US-KKK-A" and says the nation is "controlled by and run by rich white people. Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in god. And. And-and! God! Has got! To be sick! Of this sh-t!"

In an ridiculous attempt to compare Obama to Jesus, Wright said, "Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people."
Recall how Obama responded to video evidence of his mentor's black supremacist rants: "It sounds like he was trying to be provocative. ... This is somebody who I have known for 20 years [who] led me to Christ. He is a biblical scholar. He is a well-regarded preacher and somebody who is known for talking about the social gospel. ... [Wright is] like family to me."

The racist Reverend Wright has also been a featured speaker at NAACP events, spouting the same messages as has fellow racist Islamist cleric Louis Farrakhan. So before Ben Jealous lectures Tea Party Patriots about their "continued tolerance for bigotry and bigoted statements," he ought to pay more attention to his own organization.

Of course, Leftmedia types propagate accusations of racism by Obama's race-card cutouts. According to political science professor Jim Campbell from the State University of New York, "[M]edia have been successful in [playing the race card]. You have people now talking about the tea party and others in terms of this race issue, and that in itself deflects from what the tea party people are really concerned about, which is out-of-control federal spending and excessive intrusion of government. To the extent that the press, even by suggesting that race is an issue, if it gets everybody talking about the tea party in those terms, they have been successful."

For the record, racism is thriving in some American sub-cultures and movements, but the Tea Party is not one of them.

I also make a larger point -- that the Democrat Party has thoroughly institutionalized racial segregation by co-opting black America as one of its most loyal constituencies. Indeed, an unprecedented 93 percent of black voters, like so many lemmings, march in lockstep to their Democrat masters.

But, in the rhetorical style of Jesse Jackson, the message of race they embrace is a disgrace. The Democrats have replaced the chains of chattel slavery with the chains of welfare and entitlement slavery.

From the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. proclaimed, "I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." However, Leftists race-based policies such as "Affirmative Action" are precisely designed to judge by the color of their skin rather than the content of their character.

In 2008, Martin Luther King III declared, "race relations clearly will be advanced ... because of President-elect Obama."

Unfortunately, he was probably referring to "advancement" in the NAACP sense. And if so, he was correct.

End of story.

So I ask any proud American who also happens to be black, if you are so intent on finding and following a voice of a black leader, why haven't you turned to Alan Keyes, Allan West, and Star Parker to name a few. And why haven't you truly embraced the words of perhaps the greatest black leader - Martin Luther King, Jr, - "I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Oh, I know! Because Jesse, Al, Jeremiah and Barack just won't let you. Well, let me ask one last question, can you find the character, and the courage, to stand up to them?

Leave The Race Card At Home; Instead Play The Character Card
