Who's Been Running Our Government?

Couple this post with the post on the Clinton's (below); Bill is also a Council On foreign Relations member. Then think a little about the timing of the Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy assassinations. And then think more recently. Still think our government isn't dangerous? Or is it the people behind the government? Who are they, and what do they really want? And why do so many of these powerful people belong to the Council On Foriegn Relations? What is the true purpose of that organization? It sure has a lot of money and power behind it. I may not accept everything that's contained in the second video - though some of it corrarborates the first - but most of it seems pretty plausible...

The Council on Foreign Relations, housed in the Harold Pratt House on East 68th Street in New York City, was founded in 1921. In 1922, it began publishing a journal called Foreign Affairs. According to Foreign Affairs' web page (http://www.foreignaffairs.org), the CFR was founded when "...several of the American participants in the Paris Peace Conference decided that it was time for more private American Citizens to become familiar with the increasing international responsibilities and obligations of the United States."


The first question that comes to mind is, who gave these people the authority to decide the responsibilities and obligations of the United States, if that power was not granted to them by the Constitution. Furthermore, the CFR's web page doesn't publicize the fact that it was originally conceived as part of a much larger network of power.


According to the CFR's Handbook of 1936, several leading members of the delegations to the Paris Peace Conference met at the Hotel Majestic in Paris on May 30, 1919, "to discuss setting up an international group which would advise their respective governments on international affairs."


The Handbook goes on to say, "At a meeting on June 5, 1919, the planners decided it would be best to have separate organizations cooperating with each other. Consequently, they organized the Council on Foreign Relations, with headquarters in New York, and a sister organization, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, in London, also known as the Chatham House Study Group, to advise the British Government. A subsidiary organization, the Institute of Pacific Relations, was set up to deal exclusively with Far Eastern Affairs. Other organizations were set up in Paris and Hamburg..."


The 3,000 seats of the CFR quickly filled with members of America's elite. Today, CFR members occupy key positions in government, the mass media, financial institutions, multinational corporations, the military, and the national security apparatus.


Since its inception, the CFR has served as an intermediary between high finance, big oil, corporate elitists and the U.S. government. The executive branch changes hands between Republican and Democratic administrations, but cabinet seats are always held by CFR members. It has been said by political commentators on the left and on the right that if you want to know what U.S. foreign policy will be next year, you should read Foreign Affairs this year.


The CFR's claim that "The Council has no affiliation with the U.S. government" is laughable. The justification for that statement is that funding comes from member dues, subscriptions to its Corporate Program, foundation grants, and so forth. All this really means is that the U.S. government does not exert any control over the CFR via the purse strings.


In reality, CFR members are very tightly affiliated with the U.S. government. Since 1940, every U.S. secretary of state (except for Gov. James Byrnes of South Carolina, the sole exception) has been a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and/or its younger brother, the Trilateral Commission. Also since 1940, every secretary of war and every secretary of defense has been a CFR member. During most of its existence, the Central Intelligence Agency has been headed by CFR members, beginning with CFR founding member Allen Dulles. Virtually every key U.S. national security and foreign policy adviser has been a CFR member for the past seventy years.


Almost all White House cabinet positions are occupied by CFR members. President Clinton, himself a member of the CFR, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg Group, employs almost one hundred CFR members in his administration. Presidents come and go, but the CFR's power--and agenda--always remains.

Is Our Government Dangerous?

Or was it just the Clintons? Personally? I think I'd rather take my chances with Tony Montana...

A friend sent this to me recently. I have no idea as to the authenticity of the assertions, though if only 1/4 of this report is accurate it's unbelievable!

Just a quick refresher course before we forget what has happened to many "friends" of the Clintons.


1-James McDougal - Clintons' convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.

2 -Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.

3- Vince Foster - Former White House counselor and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.

4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller commited suicide.

5- C. Victor Raiser II - Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992

6-Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock, September 1992. Described by Clinton as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".

7-Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

8-Jerry Parks - Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock . Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

9-James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas .

10-James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater.

11-Kathy Ferguson- Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994 in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

12-Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June 1994 of a gunshot wound (also ruled a suicide) at the grave site of his fiancee.

13-Gandy Baugh - Attorney for the Clintons' friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor.

14-Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.

15-Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. She was pregnant at the time of her death.

16-Paula Grober - Clinton's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9 1992 . She died in a one car accident.

17-Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation.


18-Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death


19-Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Apparently jumped to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal.


20-Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29 1996 . Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.


21-Charles Meissner -Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a plane crash.


22-Dr.Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council personally treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and brother.


23-Barry Seal -Drug running pilot out of Mena, Arkansas, death was no accident.


24-Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.


25-Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.


26-Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.


27-Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The Boys on the Track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena, Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said ‘due to falling asleep on railroad tracks’. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

28-Keith Coney - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck, 7/88.
29-Keith McMaskle - Died stabbed 113 times, Nov, 1988
30-Gregory Collins - Died from a gunshot wound January 1989.
31-Jeff Rhodes - He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989
32-James Milan - Found decapitated. However, the Coroner ruled his death was due to "natural causes".
33-Jordan Kettleson - Was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June 1990.
34-Richard Winters - A suspect in the Ives/Henry deaths. He was killed in a set-up robbery July 1989.

So, we live in America; Land of Liberty! Wow! This is sooooo great! I can't imagine living in a country that wasn't about freedom and liberty. What kind of conditions must they be living under? Well, you do think we enjoy Liberty, right? It's right there in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the National Anthem! Surely, we must have Liberty, right? Well, let's see...

Depending upon your income you pay between 30-60% in taxes (Federal, State, Local, Real Estate, Sales, etc) and fees to the Government. Hmmm, feel a bit more restricted? If you aren't making the kind of money that would require you to pay that level of taxation, you are probably on some form of assistance - from the government. Yep, that's freedom!

The First Amendment gives us the right to free speech. But we are restricted from talking about God or pledging our allegiance to our country in school. All the while other religions can openly pledge their allegiance to their god - anywhere, anytime. It's their "culture"! Yep that's freedom!

The Second Amendment gives us the right to bear arms. But the fees associated with gun ownership, and the restrictions placed upon gun owners, makes this right nearly illusionary. In Chicago you can't leave you house with a weapon - if you're a law abiding citizen. How is that "bearing arms"? Feeling the freedom?

We are required to get licensed to drive, why is that? You might say it's to prove we learned to drive and we proved we could drive safely. OK, so then why aren't we just licensed once - like when we are married? Imagine having to be licensed for marriage every 4 years? Yeah, right! And why do we need our pictures on the license? Why does anyone need to know who we are? Restrictionsssssss!

Let's look at the Fourth Amendment - the right to be free of unreasonable search and seizure. And yet, today, the government - and specifically the FBI - can self-write subpoenas, and if issued, the one recieving it is not allowed to talk about it to anyone! Not their spouse, not their lawyer, not a judge under oath - no one! Seeing a picture yet? Starting to think maybe we aren't quite as 'free' as we thought we were?

Amendment Five, states in pertinent part that no person will be deprived of life without due process - and yet the president has authorized the assassination of Anwar al-Awlaki, a purportedly American-born Islamic cleric - here's a link to the article.

I tried from several places to access the Washington Post article - it's been scrubbed from the Internet. Interesting. I am certainly not condoning the alleged activity of this nut al-Awlaki, but what happens if Obama, or some other president somewhere in the future, decides you or I pose a problem to America? No due process? Ah, I'm not loving this freedom so much any more.

Amendment Eleven states that the judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend  to any suit...prosecuted against one of the United States...by subjects of any foreign state. How then is Mexico suing Arizona? Yoo Hoo, Liberty? Where are you?

Amendment Fourteen states that no state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges...of citizens of the United States. Really? Doesn't almost every law enacted abridge my privileges and yours? How can the government create Hundreds of thousands of laws and not have them abridge our privileges?

We are held hostage to all the effects of political correctness, affirmative action, a mandate, under threat of financial penalty from the government to purchase products we don't want, and now with the new financial reform bill, forced unionism in the boardroom!

No my friends, we do not enjoy the liberty envisioned by our Founders. And while we may still be that "shining beacon on the hill" that calls all who want to live free, at least for the short term anyway, we are not a "free" people. If you think we are because you can go about your own business, more or less 'making a living and a life', you are just deluding yourself.

If you want to change that, get engaged!

Reversing Course and Restoring Liberty

"The people of the U.S. owe their Independence & their liberty, to the wisdom of descrying in the minute tax of 3 pence on tea, the magnitude of the evil comprised in the precedent. In Part 1 of this essay, "Breaking the Back of Free Enterprise," I noted, "Barack Hussein Obama's macro agenda to accomplish the 'fundamental transformation of America' is to break the back of capitalism and, in the ensuing crisis, use government intervention to replace it with a more refined socialist economic framework than the one currently in place."

I then posited the question, "Is there still time to restore the primacy of free enterprise over Socialism and turn back Obama and his Leftist ilk?"

The short answer is yes. I believe there is still time to implement political solutions to reverse course and restore Essential Liberty, constitutional Rule of Law and its economic expression, free enterprise. But that window is closing.

There is an economic catastrophe on our horizon, (the Obama Plan), one whose full force will likely be felt in the next few years. It will bring with it massive increases in taxation and income redistribution accompanied by inflation of the cost of goods and services and, ultimately, centralization of the economy through complete regulation of every economic sector. This scenario will be modeled after Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal policies, but it will be so massive as to fully institutionalize Socialism on a national scale.

That's the bad news.

The good news is there exists a solution, short of civil disobedience and revolution, to dispense with the Obama Plan. That solution is a revitalized national movement to restore constitutional integrity. That effort is now well underway bearing the Tea Party label -- not a political party, per se, but the advocacy of a set of principles to restore Rule of Law.

Our success will require a groundswell of action in the next few election cycles, and the seating of a majority of legislators who have both a firm understanding of the principles of Essential Liberty and a willingness to enact the bold and difficult legislation necessary to restore constitutional Rule of Law.

The most important of these legislative measures are outlined in the Patriot Declaration. These include the enumeration of specific constitutional authority for any and every act of the legislature, its compliance with our Constitution's standard for Federalism, the Tenth Amendment, and a complete overhaul of our system of taxation.

In other words, the only way to undermine the Obama Plan is to reduce the size and scope of central government such that it comports once again with the plain language of our Constitution. In fact, this conversion to a government whose powers are, as our Constitution's principal author James Madison declared, "few and defined," will necessarily collapse its size.

However, our Constitution's prescription for central government authority and its proscription against exceeding that authority have been eroded for generations. It will thus take time to restore the Rule of Law, but restoration is the only option if our legacy of liberty is to be extended to future generations.

The alternative is, most certainly, tyranny.

The "Cycle of Democracy," attributed to 18th-century Scottish historian Alexander Tytler, follows this sequence: "From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty [Rule of Law]; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage [rule of men]."

The consequences of complacency and apathy are, indeed, dependency and bondage.

The choice that all Americans face today was aptly described by Ronald Reagan in his timeless challenge to conservatives, "A Time for Choosing": "You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right, There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream -- the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order -- or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism."

Now, as then, Leftists decry the Reagan model for restoration, cutting taxes to grow the economy, as "trickle-down economics." But the Reagan Plan resulted in the largest peacetime economic surge in American history.

To be sure, the Democrat-controlled legislature refused to enact the spending cuts Reagan called for, and this led to what were then record deficits. Those deficits, however, pale in comparison to the debt of the Obama Plan, which can only result in "trickle-up poverty."

Alexis de Tocqueville once observed, "Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."

Today, the once noble Democrat Party seeks only to forcibly reduce the people they pretend to serve to restraint and servitude.

In 1916, a minister and outspoken advocate for liberty, William J. H. Boetcker, published a pamphlet entitled The Ten Cannots, which fittingly contrasts the competing political and economic factions today: You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.

It is a hard, undeniable truth that the federal government cannot give to anybody what it does not first take from somebody else, and the power to do so is ruinous. As Thomas Jefferson wrote, we must "prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them."

Further, the debt and taxation crisis we face today was a prospect of great concern to our Founders at the dawn of our Republic. In Jefferson's words, "Taxes should be continued by annual or biennial reenactments, because a constant hold, by the nation, of the strings of the public purse is a salutary restraint from which an honest government ought not wish, nor a corrupt one to be permitted, to be free. ... Would it not be better to simplify the system of taxation rather than to spread it over such a variety of subjects and pass through so many new hands. ... The fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its turn wretchedness and oppression. ... We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. ... I place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared."

In 1824, Jefferson concluded, "I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious." What would he say today?

Our Constitution, and Rule of Law it was meant to ensure, has suffered great injury as a result of national complacency and apathy.

So we must once again choose.

Which will it be, freedom or totalitarianism, the Reagan Plan or the Obama Plan?

If we expect to bequeath liberty to our posterity, then we must dedicate our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor to uphold the primacy of free enterprise over socialism, to defend Essential Liberty and to restore constitutional Rule of Law.

Will enough conservatives be seated in Congress this election cycle to stop, or even reverse, the Obama agenda? Stopping, at the very least, is mandatory. Reversing, while a daunting challenge, is achievable and must be the sole focus of every Patriot in the coming election cycle.

Be assured, should we fail to rise to the current challenge, the terminus of the Obama Plan is tyranny.

So, fellow Patriots, in the words of Benjamin Franklin, "Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve."

Is It Hard To Recognize Tyranny When You've Never Lived Under It?

"When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." This is the opening paragraph of the thirteen United States colonies' declaration of independence from the then tyrannical England on 4 July 1776. It was then and remains today the primary seminal founding document of the United States of America.

Our Declaration of Independence was affirmed against the despot King George III. However, with only a few modifications I submit that this same declaration could be filed today against the current regime now ruling — not governing — over We-the-People of the United States of America. I would also submit that the reason for my statement is already contained within our country's founding document. Note: For those of you who were actually schooled in our nation's documents of origin, this will be a brief refresher course. For those who were not taught about them, I would suggest a reading assignment beginning with the "Declaration of Independence" referenced below.

Our founders' reasons for dissolving the bonds between England and the emerging USA were myriad. But, it is uncanny and may even be a bit unsettling to discover that the motivations for We-the-People breaking away from King George III are the same ones we find in our current US government today. Let's take a look.

Some of the causes for our founders declaring independence from England and the similar if not almost identical conditions existing in the USA today are contained within the original Declaration of Independence.

They are:

1. D of I: "He [King George] has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."

A. Current: He [Obama] is now refusing to allow sovereign US States to enact laws to protect themselves. Example: AZ passing an almost mirror image [but more restrictive to AZ law enforcement] bill of federal immigration law, in order to protect itself from drug cartels, kidnappings, human trafficking and foreign invasion. Obama & Co is now suing Arizona for attempting to protect itself; claiming that it is the US government's sole purview to decide to either protect or NOT to protect the US-Mexico border. Note: In this way, as the US government is not going after other States who already have similar laws on their books — including but, not limited to Rhode Island and California — it strongly appears that there may actually have been some backroom deal between Obama and Mexican President Felipe Calderon to cede the State of Arizona to Mexico. By the way, did you know that Obama is using YOUR tax dollars to sue Arizona?

2. D of I: "He [King George] has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them."

A. Current: This follows almost exactly in conjunction with #1 above. Obama says he has the sole right and ability to make decisions for the States. Obama forbade Arizona Governor Jan Brewer from attempting to protect her State and its citizens from foreign invasion. Obama encouraged a foreign government (Mexico) to also file a lawsuit against the US State of Arizona! This is patently treasonous behavior being affected and committed by the Usurper Obama. Obama is also gearing up to enact lawsuits against and to fight all other sovereign US States filing lawsuits against the blatantly unconstitutional ObamaCare. Again...with YOUR tax dollars and against the consent of the governed — now known as "the ruled "

3. D of I: " He [King George] has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only."

A. Current: He [Obama] told Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) that he will NOT protect the border and the American people until Republicans agree to immigration reform — aka "Amnesty." Again, the usurper is refusing to protect American citizens unless they submit to his will. And, again, treason, folks — purely and simply.

4. D of I: "He [King George] has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers."

A. Current: "He [Obama] and his DOJ overturned a legal decision — perpetrators caught on video — against Obama-supporters The New Black Panthers who blocked and threatened white voters in Philadelphia. According to sworn testimony before a Congressional Committee, former DOJ Attorney J. Christian Adams said that Obama's DOJ has no intention of upholding the Voting Rights Act if white people are the victims and black people are the perpetrators. Adams said that in November 2009 Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes also stated about the voter list integrity (including listed dead people, felons, people who had moved out of the area etc.): "We have no interest in enforcing this provision of the law. It has nothing to do with increasing turnout, and we are just not going to do it!" Obama and his faux "department of justice" are clearly no longer following or enforcing the law of the land.

5. D of I: "He [King George] has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries."

A. Current: He [Obama] appears to have trained and/or intimidated judges into using the "you have no standing" excuse in order to disallow anyone from viewing his true birth certificate. Currently, no one in the United States has "standing" to demand or even request that a copy of Obama's BC be made available to determine whether or not he is even eligible for the POTUS position. Insane.

6. D of I: "He [King George] has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance."

A. Current: He [Obama] created ObamaCare for and with the expressed purpose of creating hundreds of new offices staffed with ObamaBureaucrats to control We-the-People. He has now created more new "offices" than any other POTUS in history.

There are more similarities — if not exact matches — between the tyrannies employed by King George III and those now being affected against the American people by Obama and his Marxist regime. I encourage everyone to read or reread the extraordinary Declaration of Independence. When tyrannies become so apparent that said tyranny and oppression of the people are seen in the light of day we must acknowledge them, warn others and prepare to fight in earnest. If not, we will lose all hope of freedom and liberty today and into the future.

We will have become slaves to the Police State; this time Obama's. Prepare yourselves and your loved ones, folks. It is coming very soon.

Can We ALL Be Wrong? Somehow I Doubt It!

The Thin Veil Of Illusion

I woke in the middle of the night last night, and ended up awake for a couple of hours. My mind began to race and I couldn't help but realize how utterly disappointed I am. And I'm going to illustrate, to the best of my ability, why that is. So please bear with me.

Growing up I believed, no, I knew America was good. We were always there to protect freedom around the world, even as I recognized, as I grew older, that little by little our own liberties were being eroded by the "laws of compassion" or "laws lobbied for by certain industries or groups" that our government was passing. I always felt that every free loving person, no matter where they resided, or under which regime they endured, could look to America to bolster their hope of one day attaining freedom and liberty. And living under the protections our Constitution provided, millions of people realized that dream over the years as they immigrated to our once great country. Millions more, more likely billions, lived their lives knowing that there was a place where freedom flourished. But that place, regardless of what you think you know, no longer exists.

Go dig out your high school yearbook and bring it with you while you locate a mirror. Now stare into the mirror. What do you see? You'll probably laugh, and think, this guy is a nut - of course I see me! But do you really? Are the eyes the same as they once were? The smile? The complexion? The hair color? The amount of hair? Stare harder, are you really there?  Well, you say, I'm there, I'm just...different. And that is my point - exactly.

Now take a look at your yearbook picture. You aren't really the same person, are you? Not quite as strong? Not as idealistic? Maybe a little less committed to your goals? Less energetic? Maybe not as hopeful? Now back to the mirror and compare the two faces you see. Do you still think you're the same person?

So, just as our minds have refused to admit that we are not the same person we were when we graduated -  mostly because the changes have been so gradual over time, so too have we been sold a thin veil of illusion by our government. They've been selling it for decades, possibly for over a century. They have told us forever that we still have our liberty, even as they have passed thousands of laws that restrict us. They tell us we have our freedom of religion, and yet have removed God from everywhere except where the earliest United State residents placed those references - etched in granite on our government buildings. They tell us the 2nd Amendment is alive and well, and yet in many cases the restrictions and cost of carrying a weapon are prohibitive. No, we do not have liberty - at least not the level of liberty envisioned by our Founders!

And now, most recently, the government is mandating that we buy a product (healthcare) or be fined. They ignore laws that they don't like but enforce, sometimes outside of their authority, laws they do like. They turn a blind eye to the New Black Panther voter intimidation. They ignore, and actually embrace, organizations like ACORN who perpetuate voter fraud. They prosecute individual states because those states are trying to enforce state and federal law. They prevent the media from covering perhaps the most environmentally destructive story in our history. They allow Muslim extremists to set up gated "camps" which are off limits even to our law enforcement personnel. They place radicals, revolutionaries, socialists and communists in positions of power within the government. And through it all, we have a media that is largely complicit with the subtle vaporizing of our nation.

The America I identified with for so long no longer exists. She hasn't for a long, long time. Maybe she didn't exist even when I was a small child. Maybe I just loved the illusion. In her place is an imposter. An illusion. Thinly veiled now. Soon many more people will realize that she is not what they thought she was. When that happens, and discontent sweeps the nation, and all those forces arrayed against us smell blood, they will strike. And it is at that moment that the thin veil of illusion irrevocably falls from her face and shows America for what she has become - old, no longer useful, unnecessary, irrelevant - maybe even a country to be pitied.

The forces aligned against America, and the ideals for which she once stood, are too numerous to list. Our government is mandated by the Constitution to protect and defend America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. The government has abdicated that responsibility, and it now falls to you and me.

So I ask you, after you put your yearbook away, and you contemplate how you got from 17 to however old you are today, is America lost? Is the ideal of Liberty and Freedom gone forever?

Well that is entirely up to each of us, now isn't it? How much does it mean to you to recreate that ideal? Is it worth voting for? Is it worth joining with like-minded people? Is it worth defending with violence if necessary? Is it worth dying for? Our Founders, and the men and women of that era, answered yes to each of those questions. And while they were incapable of ensuring their ideals for America were beyond erosion, they still thought that the cost of freedom was worth it. Maybe that's because they lived under tyranny. And maybe we, as a people, need to live under tyranny ourselves before we see how debilitating it can be. Unfortunately, it will then be too late to recreate the ideals of our Founders.

So perhaps you need to take another long look in the mirror and decide who that person really is - a 'sunshine patriot", or a defender and protector of the Constitution.

The Pursuit of the Millennium by Norman Cohn

It is more than 40 years since I first read Norman Cohn's The Pursuit of the Millennium. Published in 1957, the book deals with millenarian religious movements in late medieval and early modern Europe, but as Cohn makes clear, the millenarian mentality did not end with the waning of religion - 20th-century secular totalitarian movements exhibited similar patterns of thinking.

Communists and Nazis alike anticipated a historic cataclysm, a rupture in history in which human life would be utterly transformed. Both were implacably hostile to conventional religion. And yet, as Cohn shows, they replicated an apocalyptic conception of collective salvation that was structurally identical to that of powerful strands in medieval Christianity. It was no longer God that would bring about the salvation of the world. "Humanity" - or a privileged section of it, thought to be especially progressive or racially superior - would initiate the miraculous transformation. While the content of belief had been modified with secularisation, the structure of thought had not changed. History was still seen in apocalyptic terms as a struggle between good and evil, which would end - though only after the most violent conflicts - with the victory of good.
Reading Cohn's masterpiece left me with a suspicion of world-transforming political projects that has remained with me ever since. At the same time, I was convinced that no view of the modern world which neglects the persistent power of religion could be taken seriously - a view that events have only reinforced. Not only has religion not faded away, as secular thinkers expected, but repressed religious passions permeate secular politics, often with malignant consequences. When I came to know Norman Cohn, I was interested to learn that the book was triggered by conversations among captured Nazis on which he had eavesdropped as part of his work in intelligence during the Second World War.

Though they knew their cause was lost, these Nazis took perverse comfort from a kind of negative eschatology. They had failed to create their racist utopia; but through their crimes, they believed, they had brought the old world to an end. In later books, notably Warrant for Genocide: the Myth of the Jewish World Conspiracy and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (1966) and Europe's Inner Demons (1975), Cohn showed how this kind of eschatological thinking mixed with Christian demonology led to the great witch-hunts of early modern times, and eventually to the supreme crime of the Holocaust.

It is impossible to understand 20th-century politics unless Cohn's insights into the religious origins of totalitarian movements have been fully absorbed, but the importance of his work extends well beyond totalitarianism. Eschatological thinking can have a malign effect in liberal democracies. To take only the most obvious example, an eschatological turn of mind lay behind a good deal of the support for the Iraq War. Sometimes this thinking was explicitly religious, as with the American Christian fundamentalists who supported the war as a prelude to Armageddon; but the same mentality was expressed by neoconservatives who saw regime change as the start of a "global democratic revolution", and by liberal interventionists who imagined that toppling Saddam Hussein would inaugurate a new world order ruled by human rights. In each case, the particularities of Iraq - its status as a composite state, created in colonial times and divided by deep-seated enmities - were ignored, and the risks of civil war and anarchy discounted. The warnings of history were lost in an epiphany of a new world.

There is a line of reasoning which accepts that totalitarian ideologies were shaped by apocalyptic and utopian thinking, while insisting that liberal humanism is entirely different. They - the Nazis and communists - may have been deluded and irrational; we - enlightened meliorists - have purged our minds of myth. In fact, the belief in progress in ethics and politics, which animates liberal rationalism, is itself a myth: a view of history as a process of redemption without the Christian belief in a single transforming event, but nonetheless a faith-based narrative of human salvation. It is obvious that human life can sometimes be improved. Equally, however, such gains are normally lost in the course of time. The idea that history is a process of amelioration is an article of faith, not the result of observation or reasoning.

Reading Cohn will not lead secular thinkers to relinquish their cherished myths. The need to believe in them is far more powerful than intellectual curiosity. But, for those who want to understand the origins of the conflicts of the past century and the present time, The Pursuit of the Millennium may be, as it was for me, a life-changing book.

Debt Commission Leaders Paint Gloomy Picture

The heads of President Barack Obama's national debt commission painted a gloomy picture Sunday as the United States struggles to get its spending under control.

Republican Alan Simpson and Democrat Erskine Bowles told a meeting of the National Governors Association that everything needs to be considered — including curtailing popular tax breaks, such as the home mortgage deduction, and instituting a financial trigger mechanism for gaining Medicare coverage.

The nation's total federal debt next year is expected to exceed $14 trillion — about $47,000 for every U.S. resident.

"This debt is like a cancer," Bowles said in a sober presentation nonetheless lightened by humorous asides between him and Simpson. "It is truly going to destroy the country from within."

Simpson said the entirety of the nation's current discretionary spending is consumed by the Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security programs.

"The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans, the whole rest of the discretionary budget, is being financed by China and other countries," said Simpson. China alone currently holds $920 billion in U.S. IOUs.

Bowles said if the U.S. makes no changes it will be spending $2 trillion by 2020 just for interest on the national debt. "Just think about that: All that money, going somewhere else, to create jobs and opportunity somewhere else," he said.
Simpson, the former Republican senator from Wyoming, and Bowles, the former White House chief of staff under Democratic President Bill Clinton, head an 18-member commission. It's charged with coming up with a plan by Dec. 1 to reduce the government's annual deficits to 3 percent of the national economy by 2015.

Bowles led successful 1997 talks with Republicans on a balanced budget bill that produced government surpluses the last three years Clinton was in office and the first year of Republican George W. Bush's presidency. Simpson, as the Senate's GOP whip in 1990, helped round up votes for a budget bill in which President George H.W. Bush broke his "read my lips" pledge not to raise taxes.

Despite their backgrounds, both Simpson and Bowles said they were not 100 percent confident of success this time around.

Simpson labeled the commission members "good people of deep, deep difference, knowing the possibility of the odds of success are rather harrowing to say the least."

Bowles also said Congress had to be ready to accept the commission's findings.

"What we do is not so hard to figure out; it's the political consequences of doing it that makes it really tough," he said.

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe was one of those leaders who sat in rapt attention during the presentation, one of the first in public by the commission leaders.

"I don't know that I ever heard a gloomier picture painted that created more hope for me," said Beebe, commending its frankness.

Ah, The Swinging Pendulum

It's hard to fathom just how disruptive Obama's transformation of America really is. Mostly because the things he's enacted won't come into play until 2011 or 2013 - just in time to blame the Republicans. What a game! Don't fall for it, vote out the progressive Republicans too! But it's more than that as well. It's the divisiveness of his administration and his own thinking and rhetoric. It's his arrogance in slamming corporate America. It's his dismissiveness of court rulings that he doesn't agree with. It's his lack of enforement of all current laws. It's his bias towards the union elite - notice I didn't say the workers themselves. They hold no shine for Obama. The list goes on and on. It's time to begin the process of reversing America's destiny by moving her back to the right, she is way too far left for my liking.

The Slow (But Steady) Dismantling Of America

Who would have thought, just a few short years ago, that this could be happening to America?

My last post was about the New Black Panthers, racism, and the possibility of violence hitting the American streets. This post is about the Muslim agenda to make autonomous communities within America that are not obligated to the Constitution; whose membership has been taught that if you can't convert someone to Islam, kill them! What happens to America when these two groups join forces - which seems inevitable to me? After you read this, go to the page (link at end of post) and read the comments. Lot's of patriotic Americans are scared and concerned. Are you? Here's the story. As you read through it ask yourself this; Of all the people who have sworn an oath to protect America from all enemies, foreign and domestic, why won't any of them stand up, explain this stuff to us, and provide a plan to begin the process of saving America? Muslim Enclaves U.S.A. Building the American Caliphate, One Enclave at a Time

It seems almost unthinkable, but Islamist groups are, as we speak, hard at work creating Muslim states-within-states in the U.S. Indeed, this process has been unfolding for a long time across the Western world, through the creation of isolated Muslim enclaves in both rural and urban areas, as well as through the designation of "no-go zones" where governments admit to having little authority over Muslims living there, essentially leaving them to function as autonomous regions.

Daniel Pipes has tracked numerous examples since 2004 of Muslim groups working to create communities based solely on Islam and run by Shari'a law. As discussed by David Kennedy Houck in 2006, "Although such concepts are antithetical to a free society, U.S. democracy allows the internal enclave to function beyond the established boundaries of our constitutional framework."

For example, one such community, Gwynn Oak, has been created in Baltimore, Maryland, consisting of Muslim immigrants and African-American converts. The project is led by John Yahya Cason, director of the Islamic Education and Community Development Initiative. Cason explained that the neighborhood is a response to the problem that "Muslim communities are ruled by Western societal tenets, many of which clash with Islamic norms." In his opinion, there is a need for communities with "the totality of the essential components of Muslim social, economic, and political structure." As such, the Gwynn Oak enclave follows specific moral rules based on Islam and people there speak Arabic. On September 13, 2009, the construction of its three-story mosque began. Approximately 400 Muslims now live in the vicinity.

Another example involves the Islamic Center for Human Excellence, which receives funding from the United Arab Emirates. In August 2004, it was granted permission to build a Muslim neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas, complete with a mosque, school, and 22 homes; it would not allow the presence of alcohol. The goal was for Muslims to find an area to escape the alleged crime and depravity of American life, although the imam behind the effort said that non-Muslims are welcome to join.

Far more radical groups than these are now taking the lead in promoting and creating Islamic enclaves on U.S. soil.

One such organization is As-Sabiqun, headed by Imam Abdul Alim Musa, who is very honest about his disturbing objectives. The group's website calls for installing Islamic law worldwide, fighting for "oppressed" Muslims, and "build[ing] model communities where Islam is lived." The website contains a point-by-point plan to assemble mini-states in America, beginning with the construction of a mosque and finishing with "establishing geographical integrity by encouraging Muslims of the community to live in close proximity to the masjid [mosque]" and "establishing social welfare institutions."

The ideology espoused by Musa and As-Sabiqun is undeniably radical. The website boasts about Musa's early endorsement of Ayatollah Khomeini and the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. It also is unafraid to say that As-Sabiqun members follow people like Hasan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood; Maulana Mawdudi, who called on Muslims to wage jihad until Shari'a law is in place over the globe; and Sayyid Qutb, the Muslim Brotherhood member whose preaching inspired Osama bin Laden. Musa himself has argued that the CIA and Israel were behind the 9/11 attacks. He has admitted that he "like[s]" bin Laden, calls Hezbollah "a great organization," and says Hamas members are "very nice people."

Muslims of the Americas, led by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in Pakistan, is a very similar group with very similar aims, though its focus is more rural than urban. It admits to owning at least 22 "villages" around the country that are dozens of acres large and operate under names like "Islamberg," "Holy Islamville," and "Aliville." These Muslim-only lands are open to outsiders solely during planned outreach events and sometimes to journalists.

This group has received considerable media attention due to allegations that its isolated compounds are used for paramilitary training, an accusation bolstered by a videotape released by the Christian Action Network. On that tape, a speaker is seen declaring the U.S. a Muslim country and pledging that Muslims of the Americas will defend American Muslims from foreign and domestic enemies.

The ideology of Muslims of the Americas is comparable to that of As-Sabiqun, although it is more centered on following Gilani as a representative of God who is capable of creating miracles. Gilani is very anti-Semitic, describing Jews as "an example of human Satans"; like Musa, he insists that a Jewish-Zionist conspiracy is behind the attacks of September 11, 2001, and other schemes to harm Muslims. He calls bin Laden a "Saudi activist," while claiming to meet with Jesus and personally to have introduced the Mahdi to a select few.

The Department of Homeland Security says that Muslims of the Americas is linked to Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani terrorist group. The State Department's Patterns of Global Terrorism report in 1998 described ul-Fuqra as an "Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence." Other fronts for the group include the International Quranic Open University, the United Muslim-Christian Forum, the Islamic Post newspaper, the Muslim Scouts of America, the Hands to Hands charity, Muslim Vets, the American Muslim Medical and Relief Team, and the Islamic Naat Group.

Another collective aspiring to create autonomous Muslim regions in the U.S. is called the Ummah. On October 28, 2009, the FBI tried to arrest one of its leaders, Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah, for his involvement in criminal activity alongside some of his followers. A shootout ensued that took the life of Abdullah and one police dog. Like Muslims of the Americas, Abdullah offered his flock martial arts training and, in some cases, firearms instruction. He also had his own armed security team and preached war against the U.S. government and solidarity with bin Laden, the Taliban, and Hezbollah.

The FBI describes the Ummah as a "nationwide radical fundamentalist Sunni group consisting mainly of African-Americans" and says that its goal is to create "a separate, sovereign Islamic state ('the Ummah') within the borders of the United States, governed by Shari'a law. The Ummah is to be ruled over by Jamil Abdullah al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rap Brown." The death of Luqman Ameen Abdullah did not destroy this aim.

Although the Muslim Brotherhood and its American affiliates are not directly trying to create Islam-based towns within the U.S., they are helpful to the efforts to do so. The Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan branch rushed to Abdullah's defense and the American Muslim Taskforce demanded an investigation into his death. In addition, various Brotherhood affiliates have given Musa speaking platforms, including at major universities.

Also involved is Kenny Gamble, a major music producer who now goes by the name of Luqman Abdul Haqq. Gamble has been accused of trying to create a "black Muslim enclave" in Philadelphia, closely following the plan put forth by As-Sabiqun. Notably, he has a leadership position with the Muslim Alliance in North America; Abdullah also served as a leader of MANA and Musa's name was once listed there, but has since been removed. This suggests some level of cooperation among these groups and individuals for their common goals.

The possibility that Muslim-only towns and urban enclaves could be created inside the U.S. seems like a fantasy to most Americans at the moment, but there is precedent in Europe. The French government actually has a website where it tabulates 751 "sensitive urban zones," which have been accurately described as "no-go zones." In these areas, which are mostly populated by Muslim immigrants, there is a high level of crime and hostility to any governing authority, including law enforcement. Police officers do not regularly patrol the areas and they are as close to being autonomous regions as possible without the erecting of an actual parallel government.

The construction of the building blocks for similar Muslim enclaves and "no-go zones" in the U.S. is one of the most disturbing programs of Islamist groups. If successful, these territories will be the first to establish Shari'a law in the country, thus offering a profound challenge to America's constitutional order.
