"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin;
"And when politicians find that honor and character matter less than buying votes and a constituency, that too will herald the end of the Constitution. When that happens we must work tirelessly to change their minds, or their occupation!" - Hoping The Blind Will See

Give Me A Break!

Does calling something racist make it so? Tell me the difference between these two statements. Impeach Bush. Impeach Obama. Hmmm, the focus of one is on a black man. Does that make it a racist comment? I don't think so. And if we stay on that road, there'll come a time when no black person can be criticized and that's just ridiculous! So why is it that whenever someone criticizes a black person the first reaction is to fall back on the race card? "Free Market Warrior" a kiosk selling anti-Obama bumper stickers is being thrown out of the mall they lease space in because someone complained the stickers were racist. Give me a break! What about all the pro-Obama slogans? Are they racist? Why not? What about all the anti-bush rhetoric, was that racist? Of course not, only white Texans were making those remarks, right? Guess again. We better make an effort to get rid of the double standard pervading America, or it will lead to trouble down the road. All American's want is fairness and equality, and I'm not seeing much of that - and I haven't for a long time. And because we are so intimidated, for fear of being called a racist, or perceived as lacking compassion or sympathy for the plight of poor folks and/or minorities, or thought to be lacking tolerance, we accept all that is being pushed at us in terms of social justice. I for one, am sick of the double standard! Give Me A Break!!!!! Wake Up America!
