Am I An Alarmist?

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." - Thomas Jefferson. I hope this is not too alarming. I hope this does not turn people off. I am not a nut. I am passionate about America and the Republic for which she stands. I am passionate about the Constitution and the rights it gave to us. But, it's such a sad day when, after reading those inspiring words, I realize that too many people just don't care enough to (a) become actively involved in our country's direction or (b) consider the future that will surely come to pass because of their apathy. We are in perilous times my friends, make no mistake. Don't underestimate this administration or the progressive movement. That movement has been underestimated for 40 years already. We are so close to the edge that it scares me to death. There are so many issues in play, that it's hard trying to organize them all in my head, so that I can discuss them clearly. But rest assured, if Obama is allowed to push his agenda through we will NOT recognize America in a few years. I don't know exactly what it will look like, but I know what it won't have. It won't have as many motivated people trying to improve technology and medicine and engineering and manufacturing. It won't have investors and entrepreneurs driving the economy. It won't have as many wealthy people, and those that are wealthy won't be as wealthy. It will foster distrust and bias. It will create more unfair government programs that handicap one ethnic group over another. It will have many disgusted and disappointed and disillusioned citizens. It may have long-term recession. It may have runaway inflation, It may have war. In my mind, we are already in a civil war - one of ideology, rather than guns. But a civil war all the same. You may recall that in the Civil War brothers fought against brothers, cousins against cousins, and friends against friends. Well that's what's coming to America again. I've already experienced it in my own life. Maybe some of you who are actively fighting for the Constitution have as well. It's just a matter of time before it's a common thing. And who knows, it may, at some point in the future, come to guns as well. That wouldn't surprise me.The progressive ideology has been festering under the surface of American culture for years. Obama may not be evil, who am I to say, but he is the catalyst that is bringing the progressive ideology to the surface - much like heat brings the infection of a festering wound to the surface. Now it's time, somehow, to clean the wound and rid ourselves of progressive ideology. That won't be easy. But you can start by voting in 2010. Do your research, and remember - no progressives in Congress. That will take time - many elections most likely. But if we don't start now, we might as well bend over and kiss our butts goodbye. God Bless America and all of us who love her as a Republic!
