"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin;
"And when politicians find that honor and character matter less than buying votes and a constituency, that too will herald the end of the Constitution. When that happens we must work tirelessly to change their minds, or their occupation!" - Hoping The Blind Will See

Civility? Really? Is That How America Was Built?

I have seen and heard it for the past couple of days now, and it is continuing even today. A call throughout the media for the "right" to remain civil. I don't ever recall the same level of caution being proclaimed from the media pulpits even during those occasions when the left has erupted in violent behavior. Interesting!

It's obvious that everyone "in the know", from our elected officials, to our media outlet personalities, to the very people of this great land, understand the possible ramifications that the passing of this travesty called healthcare reform, which has been forced upon all Americans, could lead to. And there is concern that Americans will let their emotions take control of their actions. Hmmm, you think? The governemnt continues to dismiss the will of the American people, and they're concerned there might be consequences? Really?

Well, I have a few questions for all of you...

Does fighting for liberty and freedom make one an extremeist? Were the Minutemen extremists? Were those that took part in the Boston Tea Party? The Union and Confederate armies of the Civil War? The Veterans of WWI and WWII? If you could answer no to those questions, then those of us fighting for Liberty and Freedom are not extremists either! So if freedom lovers are not extremists, at what point do Americans abandon civility? How much of our Freedom and Liberty do we give up, under the guise of "being civil", before "the people" understand that the concept of civility is no longer a viable option at this juncture in America's history, and perhaps is actually being used as a means to "control the masses"?

I doubt our Founders would have allowed the level of liberty already lost in this country. Would they have remained civil? I don't think the men and women who have died for the cause of Freedom and Liberty throughout our history would be very happy that we have willingly abrogated the level of liberty we have over the years. Did the Blue and the Gray remain civil? Was the civil rights movement built on the foundation of civility? Everyone points to Martin Luther King (a great man, absolutely), but what about all the unrest of that time? Change does not come without consequences. So how much do "we the people" take, and at what point will action be too late and no longer effective because we have been asked to be civil? How long do we wait before we engage in civil disobedience? When do we start to defy this government and their agenda to bring socialism to America? Personally? I think now's as good a time as any. I hope at least a few of you are as concerned about a call for "civility" as I am...

God Bless America!

  1. Well intentioned Americans now press for the November elections in hopes of cleaning house.

    Do not underestimate the evil behind the events unfolding in America. The battle for America's future is not without the risk of the opposition doing whatever it takes for the power behind the Obama agenda to REMAIN IN POWER.

    A real or perceived (staged) national emergency to justify an imposition of Martial law , would change the ball game indefinitely. If imposed by any justification before November 2010 an Executive Order by America's 'Commander in Chief' would change the rules of the game for all Americans and halt November elections leaving current runaway government agendas unstoppable.

    Given the patterns and practices by Democrats over many months to gain a victory for 'Health Care Reform' ...anything is possible.

  2. Ohh....

    I hear and I mean, I 'really' hear what you are saying, but now is not that time. Soon, but not yet.

  3. Are you kidding me???? The repubs used the events of 9/11 to scare people into voting republican for 8 years. Give me a break.

    The democrats were voted into office in overwhelming majorities. That is the very definition of representative republic. People wanted to have democratic representation in congress and the white house. You are a sore loser.

  4. You're right Anonymous, they were voted in to "represent" us! They aren't doing that though, are they? Not according to EVERY poll that's come out in the past few months. MOST Americans don't want socialism in America, and that's exactly where this administration is taking us. Now you may be perfectly happy with that. Perhaps you are younger and don't remember what real freedom and liberty is. Perhaps because of your age you have been systematically brainwashed to believe that bigger government is best for everyone. You do know that progressives are prevalent in our media and educational institutions, not just the government, right? If so, do some research on your own, listen to other points of view, and logically try to debate those views. See if you win. Oh, most likely you'll just throw up your hands and walk away, becuase invariably, when a lib gets into a logical debate, they don't have the facts to back up their beliefs. Review history ny friend. And while big government keeps growing, ask yourself, who's paying for all this? Oh yeah, those of us who are working! Hmmm, not the fairest system in the world, nor is it the system that most incentivizes individuals to grow into productive memebers of society - just the opposite in fact. And as for your point about 9/11? I believe I remember EVERY member of Congress standing out on the Capitol steps, all agreed that terrorism wouldn't stand. So don't pop in here and try to sell your partisan rhetoric to the majority of people who visit this site. You may be selling, but we're not buying. Good luck my friend, but I truly hope you don't get what you're looking for - that's how much I care about you, and I don't even know you.

    Pop in again, it's nice to see some dissemting views now and again. God Bless You!

  5. By the way anonymous, I'd love to know exactly what you like about this administration. Care to elaborate?
