Debt Commission Leaders Paint Gloomy Picture

The heads of President Barack Obama's national debt commission painted a gloomy picture Sunday as the United States struggles to get its spending under control.
Republican Alan Simpson and Democrat Erskine Bowles told a meeting of the National Governors Association that everything needs to be considered — including curtailing popular tax breaks, such as the home mortgage deduction, and instituting a financial trigger mechanism for gaining Medicare coverage.
The nation's total federal debt next year is expected to exceed $14 trillion — about $47,000 for every U.S. resident.
"This debt is like a cancer," Bowles said in a sober presentation nonetheless lightened by humorous asides between him and Simpson. "It is truly going to destroy the country from within."
Simpson said the entirety of the nation's current discretionary spending is consumed by the Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security programs.
"The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans, the whole rest of the discretionary budget, is being financed by China and other countries," said Simpson. China alone currently holds $920 billion in U.S. IOUs.
Bowles said if the U.S. makes no changes it will be spending $2 trillion by 2020 just for interest on the national debt. "Just think about that: All that money, going somewhere else, to create jobs and opportunity somewhere else," he said.
Simpson, the former Republican senator from Wyoming, and Bowles, the former White House chief of staff under Democratic President Bill Clinton, head an 18-member commission. It's charged with coming up with a plan by Dec. 1 to reduce the government's annual deficits to 3 percent of the national economy by 2015.
Bowles led successful 1997 talks with Republicans on a balanced budget bill that produced government surpluses the last three years Clinton was in office and the first year of Republican George W. Bush's presidency. Simpson, as the Senate's GOP whip in 1990, helped round up votes for a budget bill in which President George H.W. Bush broke his "read my lips" pledge not to raise taxes.
Despite their backgrounds, both Simpson and Bowles said they were not 100 percent confident of success this time around.
Simpson labeled the commission members "good people of deep, deep difference, knowing the possibility of the odds of success are rather harrowing to say the least."
Bowles also said Congress had to be ready to accept the commission's findings.
"What we do is not so hard to figure out; it's the political consequences of doing it that makes it really tough," he said.
Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe was one of those leaders who sat in rapt attention during the presentation, one of the first in public by the commission leaders.
"I don't know that I ever heard a gloomier picture painted that created more hope for me," said Beebe, commending its frankness.

Ah, The Swinging Pendulum
It's hard to fathom just how disruptive Obama's transformation of America really is. Mostly because the things he's enacted won't come into play until 2011 or 2013 - just in time to blame the Republicans. What a game! Don't fall for it, vote out the progressive Republicans too! But it's more than that as well. It's the divisiveness of his administration and his own thinking and rhetoric. It's his arrogance in slamming corporate America. It's his dismissiveness of court rulings that he doesn't agree with. It's his lack of enforement of all current laws. It's his bias towards the union elite - notice I didn't say the workers themselves. They hold no shine for Obama. The list goes on and on. It's time to begin the process of reversing America's destiny by moving her back to the right, she is way too far left for my liking.

Who would have thought, just a few short years ago, that this could be happening to America?
My last post was about the New Black Panthers, racism, and the possibility of violence hitting the American streets. This post is about the Muslim agenda to make autonomous communities within America that are not obligated to the Constitution; whose membership has been taught that if you can't convert someone to Islam, kill them! What happens to America when these two groups join forces - which seems inevitable to me? After you read this, go to the page (link at end of post) and read the comments. It seems almost unthinkable, but Islamist groups are, as we speak, hard at work creating Muslim states-within-states in the U.S. Indeed, this process has been unfolding for a long time across the Western world, through the creation of isolated Muslim enclaves in both rural and urban areas, as well as through the designation of "no-go zones" where governments admit to having little authority over Muslims living there, essentially leaving them to function as autonomous regions.
Daniel Pipes has tracked numerous examples since 2004 of Muslim groups working to create communities based solely on Islam and run by Shari'a law. As discussed by David Kennedy Houck in 2006, "Although such concepts are antithetical to a free society, U.S. democracy allows the internal enclave to function beyond the established boundaries of our constitutional framework."
For example, one such community, Gwynn Oak, has been created in Baltimore, Maryland, consisting of Muslim immigrants and African-American converts. The project is led by John Yahya Cason, director of the Islamic Education and Community Development Initiative. Cason explained that the neighborhood is a response to the problem that "Muslim communities are ruled by Western societal tenets, many of which clash with Islamic norms." In his opinion, there is a need for communities with "the totality of the essential components of Muslim social, economic, and political structure." As such, the Gwynn Oak enclave follows specific moral rules based on Islam and people there speak Arabic. On September 13, 2009, the construction of its three-story mosque began. Approximately 400 Muslims now live in the vicinity.
Another example involves the Islamic Center for Human Excellence, which receives funding from the United Arab Emirates. In August 2004, it was granted permission to build a Muslim neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas, complete with a mosque, school, and 22 homes; it would not allow the presence of alcohol. The goal was for Muslims to find an area to escape the alleged crime and depravity of American life, although the imam behind the effort said that non-Muslims are welcome to join.
Far more radical groups than these are now taking the lead in promoting and creating Islamic enclaves on U.S. soil.
One such organization is As-Sabiqun, headed by Imam Abdul Alim Musa, who is very honest about his disturbing objectives. The group's website calls for installing Islamic law worldwide, fighting for "oppressed" Muslims, and "build[ing] model communities where Islam is lived." The website contains a point-by-point plan to assemble mini-states in America, beginning with the construction of a mosque and finishing with "establishing geographical integrity by encouraging Muslims of the community to live in close proximity to the masjid [mosque]" and "establishing social welfare institutions."
The ideology espoused by Musa and As-Sabiqun is undeniably radical. The website boasts about Musa's early endorsement of Ayatollah Khomeini and the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. It also is unafraid to say that As-Sabiqun members follow people like Hasan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood; Maulana Mawdudi, who called on Muslims to wage jihad until Shari'a law is in place over the globe; and Sayyid Qutb, the Muslim Brotherhood member whose preaching inspired Osama bin Laden. Musa himself has argued that the CIA and Israel were behind the 9/11 attacks. He has admitted that he "like[s]" bin Laden, calls Hezbollah "a great organization," and says Hamas members are "very nice people."
Muslims of the Americas, led by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in Pakistan, is a very similar group with very similar aims, though its focus is more rural than urban. It admits to owning at least 22 "villages" around the country that are dozens of acres large and operate under names like "Islamberg," "Holy Islamville," and "Aliville." These Muslim-only lands are open to outsiders solely during planned outreach events and sometimes to journalists.
This group has received considerable media attention due to allegations that its isolated compounds are used for paramilitary training, an accusation bolstered by a videotape released by the Christian Action Network. On that tape, a speaker is seen declaring the U.S. a Muslim country and pledging that Muslims of the Americas will defend American Muslims from foreign and domestic enemies.
The ideology of Muslims of the Americas is comparable to that of As-Sabiqun, although it is more centered on following Gilani as a representative of God who is capable of creating miracles. Gilani is very anti-Semitic, describing Jews as "an example of human Satans"; like Musa, he insists that a Jewish-Zionist conspiracy is behind the attacks of September 11, 2001, and other schemes to harm Muslims. He calls bin Laden a "Saudi activist," while claiming to meet with Jesus and personally to have introduced the Mahdi to a select few.
The Department of Homeland Security says that Muslims of the Americas is linked to Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani terrorist group. The State Department's Patterns of Global Terrorism report in 1998 described ul-Fuqra as an "Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence." Other fronts for the group include the International Quranic Open University, the United Muslim-Christian Forum, the Islamic Post newspaper, the Muslim Scouts of America, the Hands to Hands charity, Muslim Vets, the American Muslim Medical and Relief Team, and the Islamic Naat Group.
Another collective aspiring to create autonomous Muslim regions in the U.S. is called the Ummah. On October 28, 2009, the FBI tried to arrest one of its leaders, Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah, for his involvement in criminal activity alongside some of his followers. A shootout ensued that took the life of Abdullah and one police dog. Like Muslims of the Americas, Abdullah offered his flock martial arts training and, in some cases, firearms instruction. He also had his own armed security team and preached war against the U.S. government and solidarity with bin Laden, the Taliban, and Hezbollah.
The FBI describes the Ummah as a "nationwide radical fundamentalist Sunni group consisting mainly of African-Americans" and says that its goal is to create "a separate, sovereign Islamic state ('the Ummah') within the borders of the United States, governed by Shari'a law. The Ummah is to be ruled over by Jamil Abdullah al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rap Brown." The death of Luqman Ameen Abdullah did not destroy this aim.
Although the Muslim Brotherhood and its American affiliates are not directly trying to create Islam-based towns within the U.S., they are helpful to the efforts to do so. The Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan branch rushed to Abdullah's defense and the American Muslim Taskforce demanded an investigation into his death. In addition, various Brotherhood affiliates have given Musa speaking platforms, including at major universities.
Also involved is Kenny Gamble, a major music producer who now goes by the name of Luqman Abdul Haqq. Gamble has been accused of trying to create a "black Muslim enclave" in Philadelphia, closely following the plan put forth by As-Sabiqun. Notably, he has a leadership position with the Muslim Alliance in North America; Abdullah also served as a leader of MANA and Musa's name was once listed there, but has since been removed. This suggests some level of cooperation among these groups and individuals for their common goals.
The possibility that Muslim-only towns and urban enclaves could be created inside the U.S. seems like a fantasy to most Americans at the moment, but there is precedent in Europe. The French government actually has a website where it tabulates 751 "sensitive urban zones," which have been accurately described as "no-go zones." In these areas, which are mostly populated by Muslim immigrants, there is a high level of crime and hostility to any governing authority, including law enforcement. Police officers do not regularly patrol the areas and they are as close to being autonomous regions as possible without the erecting of an actual parallel government.
The construction of the building blocks for similar Muslim enclaves and "no-go zones" in the U.S. is one of the most disturbing programs of Islamist groups. If successful, these territories will be the first to establish Shari'a law in the country, thus offering a profound challenge to America's constitutional order.

Do You Think A Race War In America Is Likely?
If so, do you think it will be telegraphed? How many people blissfully go about their lives never even knowing people like this (Malik Shabazz and King Shamir, below) or organizations like this (The New Black Panthers) exist? Why is it that only white (and mostly male) America is painted as racist? Where is Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the rst of the liberal/progressive crowd who always seems to surface whenever an opportunity to exploit some situation presents itself.

What the New Black Panthers Believe
1. We want freedom. We want the power to practice self-determination, and to determine the destiny of our community and THE BLACK NATION.
We believe in the spiritual high moral code of our Ancestors. We believe in the truths of the Bible, Quran, and other sacred texts and writings. We believe in MAAT and the principles of NGUZO SABA. We believe that Black People will not be free until we are able to determine our Divine Destiny.
2. We want full employment for our people and we demand the dignity to do for ourselves what we have begged the white man to do for us.
We believe that since the white man has kept us deaf, dumb and blind, and used every dirty trick in the book to stand in the way of our freedom and independence, that we should be gainfully employed until such time we can employ and provide for ourselves.
We believe further in: POWER IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE! WEALTH IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE! ARMS IN THE HANDS OF THE PEOPLE!
3. We want tax exemption and an end to robbery of THE BLACK NATION by the CAPITALIST. We want an end to the capitalistic domination of Africa in all of its forms: imperialism, criminal settler colonialism, neo-colonialism, racism, sexism, zionism, Apartheid and artificial borders.
We believe that this wicked racist government has robbed us, and now we are demanding the overdue debt of reparations. A form of reparations was promised 100 years ago (forty acres and a mule) as restitution for the continued genocide of our people and to in meaningful measure and repair the damage for the AFRICAN HOLOCAUST (Maangamizo/Maafa).
We believe our people should be exempt from ALL TAXATION as long as we are deprived of equal justice under the laws of the land and the overdue reparations debt remains unpaid. We will accept payment in fertile and mine rally rich land, precious metals, industry, commerce and currency. As genocide crimes continue, people's tribunals must be set up to prosecute and to execute.
The Jews were given reparations. The Japanese were given reparations. The Black, the Red and the Brown Nations must be given reparations. The American white man owes us reparations. England owes us reparations. France owes us reparations, Spain and all of Europe. Africa owes us reparations and repatriation. The Arabs owe us reparations. The Jews owe us reparations. All have taken part in the AFRICAN HOLOCAUST and the slaughter of 600 million of our people over the past 6,000 years in general and 400 year in particular. We know that this is a reasonable and just demand that we make at this time in history.
4. We want decent housing, fit for shelter of human beings, free health-care (preventive and maintenance). We want an end to the trafficking of drugs and to the biological and chemical warfare targeted at our people.
We believe since the white landlords will not give decent housing and quality health care to our Black Community, the he housing, the land, the social, political and economic institutions should be made into independent UUAMAA New African Communal/Cooperatives so that our community, with government reparations and aid (until we can do for ourselves) can build and make drug free, decent housing with health facilities for our people.
5. We want education for our people that exposes the true nature of this devilish and decadent American society. We want education that teaches us our true history/herstory and our role in the present day society.
We believe in an educational system that will give our people a knowledge of self. If we do not have knowledge of self and of our position in society and the world, then we have little chance to properly relate to anything else.
6. We want all Black Men and Black Women to be exempt from military service.
We believe that Black People should not be forced to fight in the military service to defend a racist government that holds us captive and does not protect us. We will not fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black People, are being victimized by the white racist government of America. We will protect ourselves from the force and violence of the racist police and the racist military, by any means necessary.
7. We want an immediate end to POLICE HARRASSMENT, BRUTALITY and MURDER of Black People. We want an end to Black-on-Black violence, snitching, cooperation and collaboration with the oppressor.
We believe we can end police brutality in our community by organizing Black self-defense groups (Black People's Militias/Black Liberation Armies) that are dedicated to defending our Black Community from racist, fascist, police/military oppression and brutality. We believe our people should be exempt from ALL TAXATION as long as we are deprived of equal justice under the laws of the land and the overdue reparations debt remains unpaid. We will accept payment in fertile and mine rally rich land, precious metals, industry, commerce and currency. As genocide crimes continue, people's tribunals must be set up to prosecute and to execute.
The Jews were given reparations. The Japanese were given reparations. The Black, the Red and the Brown Nations must be given reparations. The American white man owes us reparations. 5. We want education for our people that exposes the true nature of this devilish and decadent American society. We want education that teaches us our true history/herstory and our role in the present day society.
We believe in an educational system that will give our people a knowledge of self. If we do not have knowledge of self and of our position in society and the world, then we have little chance to properly relate to anything else.

We believe that Black People should not be forced to fight in the military service to defend a racist government that holds us captive and does not protect us. We will not fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black People, are being victimized by the white racist government of America. Four days after the United States Supreme Court overturned a Chicago handgun ban as unconstitutional, city aldermen passed another ordinance that bans gun shops from the city and makes it a crime for a gun owner to step outside his home—even onto his porch or into his garage—with a handgun.
Several people and at least one organization have already sued the city in Federal court seeking to have the new ordinance declared null and void, according to The Washington Examiner.
The Eric Holder Justice Department ripped Arizona’s immigration law within days of its passage, saying the law stepped into the jurisdiction of the Federal government. On Tuesday the Federal government filed suit against Arizona over the law.
The Supreme Court’s ruling in the Chicago handgun ban made it clear that cities and states could not infringe on the right of Americans to keep and bear arms—essentially making gun laws a Federal issue. I’m sure that, since Holder is so concerned with keeping Federal authority where it belongs he’ll soon be joining the suit against the city of Chicago.

An Open Letter To Senator Nelson
Dear Senator Nelson,
It is quite evident to anyone paying attention to Washington that Obama's strategy for 2011 is to raise taxes to pay for the massive debt he has grown over the past 19 months. It is also quite evident that should "Republicans" choose not to support that agenda they will be characterized by the Administration as the party "preventing" or "obstructing" debt and deficit reduction efforts.
I believe we need to recognize this Administration, and this Congress, for who they are; the group who spends before they have the money and then punishes the people with taxes to pay for that irresponsible spending.
I do not expect you, or any Republican or fiscally responsible Democrat to vote for any tax increase. Instead, I expect that social programs be paired down or eliminated altogether to reduce the debt and eliminate the deficit. I expect that beginning immediately we start reducing the size of government, and the level of dependency upon the government by the American citizenry. What the government has done to America over the years, under the banner and guise of "compassion" is criminal! We have deviated so far from our roots that it is hard to fathom that distance. I am sorely disappointed in the government leadership, but I am also thankful that the American people, myself included, have woken up to the true will of the progressives who permeate our government. I truly hope that you are not that radical.
Thanks in advance for your vigilance over the Constitution, should you choose that course. Please... honor your oath!

In his latest You Tube address, Alex Jones examines the factors leading towards the Obama Administration’s pending lawsuit against Arizona’s controversial immigration laws, an act of treason under the 11th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which bars the suing of states under certain circumstances.
Above all, Alex Jones makes the case that Barack Obama and his cohorts have avoided key duties demanded by the Constitution, including defending the border, while engaging in a multitude of illicit activities specifically barred by the Constitution.
Why President Obama would ignore the popular outcry to control the border and rally against Arizona with allies including Mexican President Felipe Calderon makes little sense until put in context with the fact that he intends to ram through historically unpopular amnesty legislation. Outrageously, Arizona Senator Jon Kyl (R) claims that Obama told him privately that, in essence, an open border was a point of leverage on the amnesty issue:
“If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform,” Sen. Kyl quoted President Obama as stating.
Kyl recounted the story to a room of concerned supporters, further characterizing the President’s position as “holding hostage” the border issue to help push the amnesty package. This despite political uproar in Arizona, increased border violence, increased threats to Sheriffs and other law enforcement in border areas, and the closing of many state parks and other areas on the border considered too dangerous to allow Americans into.
NORTH AMERICAN UNION AGENDA
At the same time, efforts to integrate North America under the Security & Prosperity Partnership and other related agreements have continued to undermine national sovereignty in general, and the 9th & 10th Amendment sovereignty of states like Arizona in particular. The SPP was first established by Presidents George W. Bush, Vicente Fox and PM Paul Martin, then continued by Presidents Barack Obama, Felipe Calderon and PM Stephen Harper. Calderon has been particularly duplicitous in this regard– he bellowed about the ’strict’ immigration laws established by Arizona (despite Mexico’s stricter laws) and further restated Mexico’s ‘claim to stolen land.‘
If this were truly his concern, why then would he simultaneously embrace continental integration by participating in the SPP?
This globalist partnership– pursued “by stealth” and without the knowledge or consent of the American, Canadian or Mexican peoples– is indeed a treasonous collaboration with foreign powers, and very much in the spirit of that which the 11th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, passed in 1795, intended to prevent and punish.
DRUG WAR COMPLICITY
Though the social cost of illegal immigrants is often the focus of unrest over the unsecured Mexican-U.S. border, it is the increasingly violent Mexican drug gangs who pose perhaps the greatest threat. Already, the Mexican government has been displaced by drug cartel control. Headless bodies, kidnapping and murders have now become rampant, not only on the Mexican side of the border, but on the U.S. side as well. This alone is reason to take border security very serious.
Yet President Obama and his ilk refuse to do what is necessary.
More outrageously, a recent Bloomberg report revealed that major U.S. banks have knowingly financed Mexican drug cartels and facilitated money laundering without taking any action to stop it. Putting this together with refusal to protect the border paints a clear picture.
Still worse are revelations and even open admissions that U.S. troops in Afghanistan are not eradicating opium crops, but growing, guarding & “tolerating” them. Those drugs are being shipped into the United States and other Western powers, along with Russia, without any concerted attempt to stop their flow. Indeed, suppressed history like Gary Webb’s Dark Alliance and other revelations from the Iran-Contra Affair, Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia and beyond all point to the sad fact that those in power in the United States, including the CIA, have driven the drug trade, not slowed or stopped it.
And yet, the Drug War continues, and in its final phase, preys upon the American people, searching and monitoring them, and finalizing imprisoning and punishing its users. Through the prison industrial complex, the system profits upon victimized addicts of the drug trade while doing nothing to end Wall Street money laundering or cross-border smuggling operations. Now, it has been announced in New York that National Guard will patrol American neighborhoods for the purpose of drug interdiction.
Not only is the use of military on American soil a violation of Posse Comitatus, but it is a symbol of the ultimate hypocrisy and treason that has been committed by America’s globalist leaders for many years now.

"'Next year when I start presenting some very difficult choices to the country, I hope some of these folks who are hollering about deficits step up. Because I'm calling their bluff.' That was President Barack Obama, the heretofore unknown deficit hawk, all but announcing the other day the tax trap that he's been laying for Republicans. From what we hear about intra-GOP debates, more than a few will be happy to walk right into it. You don't need a Mensa IQ to figure this one out. Mr. Obama's plan has been to increase spending to new, and what he hopes will be permanent, heights. Then as the public and financial markets begin to fret about deficits and debt, he'll claim that the debt is 'unsustainable' and that the only 'responsible' policy is to raise taxes. ... We think the last thing the U.S. economy needs at the moment -- and the worst policy for the deficit -- is the big tax increase that will hit on January 1 with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. ... Under Congress's perverse budget rules, extending those tax cuts will 'cost' the Treasury revenue, even though extending those tax rates would only prevent a tax increase. And because Congress still uses static revenue scoring -- meaning no change in economic behavior from tax changes -- the Joint Tax Committee thinks it will raise nearly $1 trillion over 10 years from the higher tax rates on incomes, dividends and capital gains. That's highly improbable. After those tax rates were cut in 2003, total federal tax revenue increased by 44%, or $743 billion, from 2003-2007. In other words, Democrats have rigged the rules so that merely stopping a tax increase will be scored to increase the deficit. These are the same Democrats who haven't 'paid for' trillions of spending in the last four years, but watch them soon denounce Republicans as fiscally irresponsible merely for trying to stop a tax increase. Then as the public and financial markets begin to fret about deficits and debt, he'll claim that the debt is 'unsustainable' and that the only 'responsible' policy is to raise taxes. ... We think the last thing the U.S. economy needs at the moment -- and the worst policy for the deficit -- is the big tax increase that will hit on January 1 with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. ... Under Congress's perverse budget rules, extending those tax cuts will 'cost' the Treasury revenue, even though extending those tax rates would only prevent a tax increase. And because Congress still uses static revenue scoring -- meaning no change in economic behavior from tax changes -- the Joint Tax Committee thinks it will raise nearly $1 trillion over 10 years from the higher tax rates on incomes, dividends and capital gains. That's highly improbable. After those tax rates were cut in 2003, total federal tax revenue increased by 44%, or $743 billion, from 2003-2007. In other words, Democrats have rigged the rules so that merely stopping a tax increase will be scored to increase the deficit. These are the same Democrats who haven't 'paid for' trillions of spending in the last four years, but watch them soon denounce Republicans as fiscally irresponsible merely for trying to stop a tax increase. I Don't Dislike Union Members, But I Hate The Union Mentality!
I've got to admit I'm perplexed. This is going to cost us a lot of money! The government, with it's decision to sue Arizona over the immigration bill they just passed, is showing us the union mentality decision making that's going on. But why? Here's what I mean. The government is responsible for ensuring our borders are protected, our security is ensured, and our immigratuion laws are enforced. Pretty clear cut.
But They Weren't doing any of it!
So along comes Arizona who essentially says "We'll help you out Federal government, no problem" (or problemo, depending upon who you talk to). We'll pass a state law that mirrors the Federal one, catch the illegal immigrants for you, send them to ICE for processing, and you just need to deport them.
Along comes Eric Holder and the DOJ. Oh, no they say, "we can't have you interfering with immigration, that's our job!"
"But you aren't doing your job, Eric," says Arizona.
Eric replies, "But we don't want you doing it either! It's our job, and whether we do it or not, it's still ours. You can't have it - even if you have the resources to do it and we don't." They just don't want to give up that power!
So let's review.
1. The government owns a responsibility (work) that they are not acting on.
2. Someone (Arizona) decides they can do it better because of necessity, and starts the process to perform the work.
3. The government files a lawsuit (a grievance?) to ensure the responsibility (work) stays with them.
4. If they win, they still wont act on their responsibility (complete the work), so everyone is still in the same boat - but money has been spent and someone is a little richer.
Yep - that's the union mentality all right - and our community organizers/pro-union administration is about to waste our money - yep, yours and mine, the taxpayer! You gotta love the union mentality. Uh, (forehead slap) - NO YOU DON'T!!!

On The Precipice Of History
Hello America,
You know me…you know the drill. It’s the 4th of July, so of course you can expect a special email from old Glenn, one where I quote Thomas Jefferson and maybe make fun of myself for eating my weight in hot dogs. Not this year. It’s true—for me, July 4th is much more than just a day for backyard barbeques and firework displays, and I know it’s the same for you. We celebrate and cherish America’s independence all the time—we don’t need a special occasion to fly the flag or honor those who serve. So this year, I want to simply wish you and your family a happy 4th of July and leave you with one idea to think about.
Most of us think of the 4th of July as the day when we declared our independence from England and began building the greatest nation the world has ever known. And while it’s true, that notion feels very much like the end of something…British rule, oppression, being subjects to a king instead of to one another. But when you stop and think about it, the 4th of July wasn’t an ending at all—it was just the beginning.
While we declared our Independence on July 4th, 1776, we had to keep fighting to defend that declaration until 1783, over seven years of bloody struggle and ultimate sacrifice. And while those who fought in the Revolutionary War knew what they were dying to protect, “we the people” didn’t adopt our Constitution until 1787, more than 11 years after those 56 men gathered in a room and signed their name to a piece of parchment that said there’s a better way for men and women to live:
In freedom.
The second sentence of the Declaration of Independence reads:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
The fight to live up to those 36 words continues to this day, as an ever expanding government is threatening to suppress the very freedoms our founders fought for. And while July 4th, 1776 was a major victory, let the date serve not merely as a day to remember how it all started - but also that freedom is fragile and vigilance is needed to preserve and protect it. Each and every one of us is responsible to make sure that freedom doesn't vanish on our watch. This 4th of July, think about what the founders risked to make sure they and future generations lived free - their lives, the fortunes, and their sacred honor. And ask yourself, are you willing to do the same?

What The Founders Lost
Francis Lewis - Less than two months after signing the Declaration of Independence his home was plundered and burned, and his wife was imprisoned and treated with brutality. She was eventually part of a prisoner exchange, but she had suffered so severely at the hands of the British that she never recovered and died within two years.
William Floyd - His extensive woodlands were plundered until they were "despoiled of almost every thing but the naked soil." He and his family were exiled from their home for 7 years, and had no income from his property for that period of time.
Philip Livingston - All his business interests and his mansion fell to the enemy. He and his family fled their home, and he sold some remaining property to help fund the Revolution. He died in 1778, ever having been able to return home.
Lewis Morris - Lost 1000 acres and herds of livestock. Exiled from his home, also for 7 years.
John Hart - While his wife lay on her deathbed, the enemy arrived at his residence and destroyed his mills and farmland. He was sixty-five, and fled through the forest - living in caves, and anywhere else he could find shelter. By the time he could return home, his wife had died and his thirteen children were scattered.
Abraham Clark - His two sons were captured and confined to a prison ship. He rejected an offer by the enemy to free his sons in return for his denouncement of "the cause" in favor of King and Parliament.
This is just a sampling. The list goes on and on. So as Glenn asked above, are you willing to do the same? Does the ideal of Liberty mean enough to you? Does Freedom mean enough to you? Or, is it because we have known nothing but "freedom" (or at least what passes for it these days), that we now take it for granted and can not fathom the horror that life would be without it? Are we on a "precipice of history", and about to find out what it will be like? Or are we one a different "precipice of history", looking into the eyes of a second revolution? Or perhaps, we're on a third "precipice of history", about to enter a living hell - no food, no money, famine, plagues, crime, lawlessness. It's all happened before in history, so what path will we find ourselves on in 20 years?
