"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." - Benjamin Franklin;
"And when politicians find that honor and character matter less than buying votes and a constituency, that too will herald the end of the Constitution. When that happens we must work tirelessly to change their minds, or their occupation!" - Hoping The Blind Will See

Cause And Effect

Remember physics and the rule of cause and effect? Well we're living that Axiom today. Everything our esteemed leader does, has a consequence. And I contend that the more he bends over backwards, the further third world nations will expect him to bend, the less strong we will be perceived and the less safe we will become.

Let me give you two examples. First, Obama has bent over backwards appeasing the Palestinians at the expense of our ally, Israel. And yet yesterday the Palestinians stated their hopes for the Obama Administration have "evaporated". They claim that the White House has caved to the pressure exerted by the pro-Israeli factions. They stated Obama "could not withstand the pressure of the Zionist lobby, which led to a retreat from his previous position on halting settlement construction and redefining and agenda for the negotiations and peace." And Ahmajinedad calls Obama naive!

Secondly, yesterday the Nobel Panel defended their choice of Obama for the Nobel Peace Prize, stating that they selected Obama for what he has accomplished. Have you ever heard them defend any other choice? So why do they feel the need to defend this one? Perhaps because it was a poor choice to begin with! Four of the five panelists spoke out, stating "He got the prize for what he has done" citing Obama's efforts to heal the divide between the West and the Muslim world (efforts do not equal accomplishment, but maybe the Nobel Panel doesn't know that)and to scale down the Bush-era proposal for an anti-missile shield in Europe. Now that action leads many to believe that less peace in the region, not more, is imminent. Committee Chairman Jagland of the Panel stated "all these things (all these things? Only two were mentioned!)have contributed to - I wouldn't say a safer world (DUH!!) - but a world with less tension."

Cool! Effort + less tension = Nobel Peace Prize!

I wonder if that formula has ever been employed for the basis of an international award before? Doesn't seem the requirements are so stringent to me. But I digress. Back to Cause and Effect.

The bottom line is that Obama's actions have consequences. He wants a safer world, but at the expense of a less safe America, a less safe Europe and a less safe Isreal. But with a militarily empowered Iran and North Korea. Call me daft, but I don't quite see how the world is less safe. Do you?

And to date his actions have led me to believe that America, which he took an oath to defend and protect to the best of his ability, is now a less safe place. So either he could care less about his Oath of Office (they're just words - remember him saying that?) or his ability is pretty poor. I suspect it's the former, not the latter.

Wake Up America!
